“Excellent!”

Took a Lake Mývatn tour with Kristján as our guide. He was very knowledgable, fun and laid back. None of us were in a hurry to get back early so we took our time and weren't rushed at all. Lake Mývatn is not place to be missed when in Iceland and having a guide is absoloutly worth it. The local information is great!

“Fantastic tour with Jon for Game of Thrones”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

My partner and I joined this tour during the Icelandic winter and we loved it. Not only was the landscape breathtakingly beautiful at this time of year but Jon was very informative on Icelandic history in addition to Game of Thrones information. The tour covered a lot of ground in a very comfortable super jeep, with various stops for photos and filming locations. Jon even has a few props from the show that every GOT fan will appreciate. You also get an insight into Icelandic folklore which is amusing - make sure you take your sense of adventure and humour with you! Overall a great day out of Akureyri with Jon who was a very professional, informative yet funny guide. It's not all GOT so makes it great value for others that aren't diehard fans of the show - the stories and information on Icelandic culture are value for money on their own.

“Awesome Game of Thrones tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

We stopped at many spots around Lake Myvatn, known as "beyond the Wall" in the Game of Thrones. Our guide had video clips on his tablet so that we could see the actors performing in the actual spots we were viewing. He was also full of stories about the actors and the filming of Game of Thrones in Iceland. For Game of Thrones fans this tour is not to be missed! And the highlight of the day was actually going into the secret cave with the hot spa where Jon Snow and Ygritte started their romance. The sight of incredible rock formations and perfectly clear hot water with rising steam in the dark cave, while sunlight poured through the entrance, was awesome.

“Excellent personal service providing insight into the area and wonderful scenery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

We had two great trips with this company, the first (three tunnels) driven by Jon Thor and the second (Myvatn and Dettifoss) by Stefan Gunnar Svavarsson. Both provided a first class commentary of the areas and the history so not only did we see great scenery we also could put it in context. They were very flexible when we wanted to stop and look at something, including taking pictures. There were also plenty of comfort stops en route and an opportunity to buy local items.

The area around Akureyri and the highlands is spectacular in winter (not been in the summer - yet!). We were lucky and the skies where a clear blue whilst we were there, the water reflecting the majestic mountains and scenery, including multi-coloured properties.

“Dettifoss and "The Three Tunnel Tour"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

On recommendation we booked 2 tours from Akureyri on March 30+31, 2014. The sun shone both days!

The three tunnel tour to the fishing villages of Siglufjörður: Jon Thor, the owner, took the two of us up the coast through beautiful scenery, past the calmest fjord, on a 5 hr trip. The roads were clear but snow-covered hills surrounded us. With Siglufjörður being the main herring town in Iceland during the 20th century, and with Jon having family who worked there, we had an informative tour of the museum. A beautiful part of Iceland!

The next day Stefan Svavarsson took us to Dettifoss, an 8hr trip. Luckily the weather meant we could get there. What an excellent trip with someone with a fantastic sense of humour! We told him the two of us didn't want to swim in the hot baths but spend time photographing scenery and birds! We spent a lot of the trip walking, looking for ptarmigan amongst the lava maze at Dimmuborgir, stopping for photos around every corner. We felt safe as he drove over ice and snow to see Dettifoss waterfall. An excellent guide, a delight to have met him.
