The hotel is lovely. stayed in room 143 in 2010, and room 146 in Sept 2011 with no problems on room service, friendly helpful staff. We have just booked for this Sept 2012.
B+B is traditional turkish,We like to eat out. We understand the reason for not taking food to the apartment, but know one makes a big issue of it. Hire car is handy, for longer trips out ,you can get to local or town restaurants via dolmus bus. Restaurant silver rocks, along Lapta road,Blue door, Alsancak village and Dolphin [west] east of the village, hillside snackbar just past this bar, turn right up to riverside road 250 yds the acmenya restaurant. The one we liked in kyrenia off the harbour in a back lane, The fisherman, lots more about we have not had a bad meal yet.
We found this hotel quiet and relaxing, not much for children, which suites us,prefer quiet

What a place!

Very clean with amazingly well tended gardens surrounding all the accommodation blocks.

The staff are friendly and helpful (where language allows), particularly the lady who runs the pool bar.

Bars and restaurants are around, but need a little finding as they are spread along the main road in both directions. Lapta probably providing the best selection.

Car hire was arranged direct with Green Car Hire, next door to the hotel where the prices were reasonable and the vehicle was provided promptly with all requirements met after having made an e-mail request some time before arrival in Kyrenia.

If you stay at this accommodation and do not visit 'The Lodge' in Lapta, you are missing a real treat. Good food, served as generous portions with professional, friendly service at reasonable prices.

Ramol runs the retaurant side while Sunny runs the bar area, producin your favourite drink, both being supported by Ali and his staff in the kitchen.

Room Tip: Room 106 does not have a balcony and is behind the reception building, There is nothing wrong with t...

We have just returned from a two week stay and in the main it was lovely. The weather was perfect with long sunny days, which we spent by the large pool. If you are going to stay here don't stay in the hotel room, numbered 101 to 110, the ones on the ground floor have balconies and only two on the next floor have one, the others are 'jullette' style. We felt that we were the forgotten few, the rooms were the last to be cleaned and on several occasions we would arrive back to find as late as 5.30 that the room was as we left it at 9.30am. One day non of the ten rooms had been touched. When we complained to either reception or the Manager we were told that they would see to it that our rooms would be cleaned first. Yes for a couple of days maybe, but then back to being done last or not at all and back to reception we would go and so it went on. The guests in the apartments couldnt understand what our problem was!

The breakfasts are a joke, ever tried COLD fried eggs, all joined together in a round like a large omelette with the yolks in, yuk. Apparantly the bit that keeps the eggs hot was broken and the new part was on order (3 weeks prior to our 2 week visit!!!!!). Although there was a
selection of cheeses, olives and salads this was never ever changed or added to. The best bit was the lovely fresh bread.

There was not one bit of entertainment in the evenings, despite what the brochure tells you, so the place was like a morgue as most of the guests go out to eat. There are plenty of restaurants within a dolmus ride and three or four within walking distance, take a torch as the road is busy and very dark.

The pool is lovely and large but we do question the cleaning of it, we only saw it cleaned once per week during our two week stay.

The staff work long hours and are in the main friendly and fairly 'cheerful', we spotted security cameras around the breakfast room, bar and pool bar and jokingly said was this to see what food we smuggled out to be told 'no the owner sits and watches what the staff are doing'. Lovely if it's true !!!!

This was our fifth visit to N Cyprus but don't think we would return to this hotel, there are much nicer ones around, not so much in the setup but what the Hotel has to offer it's guests.

Room Tip: Don't stay in rooms 101-110

We visisted North Cyprus in September (7 -14th) I think our room number was 132 or 131.

I was apprehensive about my visit, as i had read a number of reviews on trip advisor that mentioned the green swimming pool, and a ban on bringing food into the hotel.

However when i visited, the hotel it was absoloutly brilliant. Our room/apratment was massive, with a kitchenette area, and lounge. To be fair there were no pots or plates, but as i hadnt booked a self catering holiday it didnt bother me. There was a note on the fridge that said if you brought food and drinks into the hotel it would be confiscated. To be fair, i think just using a bit of common sense here is the best thing to do.
We only took drinks into the hotel, and during the day, we hid them in our room, and when the maid had gone, we put them back in the fridge. I really wouldnt say it was rocket science. However those on here moaning about flys/ants because they were hiding food, should have simply booked a self catering holiday. As at no point was this holiday sold to us as self catering (i would never cook on holiday) and if you are hiding food under the bed etc, it really is to be expected.

The pool was clean, and was not green, but i believe it had been some weeks prior to our visit, and to be fair, i would have kicked off about that, but we had no problems.

The staff were great, Sarah the English lady was so helpful and gave us some good recommendations. Breakfast was okay, there wasnt the biggist selection of food, but it did the job.

I would not reccomend the food at the pool bar, it was overpriced (in comparrison to near by restaurants) and tasteless, and be prepared for a longish wait. We made the mistake of eating lunch at the pool bar once, and didnt do it again.

This hotel is out of the way, i think its safe to say there isnt much within walking distance (in 32 degrees heat, i wouldnt be walking far anyway) and a car is a must. We had one for the duration, so we would pop to other restaurants on the few days we spent at the hotel.

Because of where the hotel is, it is rather quiet. This was perfect for me, but if you like a nice stroll near the shops at night, you need to get in the car and drive into Kyrenia, or take the dolmus bus. This hotel, didnt seem like it had much to offer for children. Having said all of this though, this is what made this hotel the perfect choicefor us as it was very quiet and relaxing

I would reccommend the following restaurants Silver Rocks, we went here twice for lunch, and once for an evening meal, the food was gorgeous, and fairly cheap and Niazi's in Kyrenia, they do the best kebabs and meze's.

We did alot of trips in the car, and found some amazing places. The driving is easy as its the same as the Uk.

If you do book this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis then dont expect there to be food for you when your arrive at 10 at night, as this is not breakfast time. I noticed a few people moan about this, but i really dont think its fair to expect food that you havent actually paid for, and then write a bad revie w based upon that, when we arrived at night we walked for two minutes to a restaurant near the hotel called captianos and had a rather nice supper, and it didnt cost the earth either.

Our Rep was Khalid from Direct Traveller and he was very helpful - he even drew us maps!!!!

I would reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet break away from it all, who is happy to get in car to get about, or use the buses or taxi service, we would go again.

Room Tip: As for a room by the pool

What a breath of fresh air! The apart-villas are very clean and spacious. The cleaning service was second to none, the facilities are clean and in good condition and the staff were absolutley lovely!! I have never met such kind and friendly people who could not be helpful enough! Aycan and the rest of the team really made our holiday!! I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning next year! Weather has been best in the world (week commencing 12th sept 2011) and found plenty to do in the daytime. EXCELLENT ACCOMODATION!

Room Tip: All rooms are peaceful with lovely views!
