Good family friendly hotel with special playroom for kids and free gift from huge red treasure chest. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and have good view of the river aura. Bathroom have underfloor heating and strong shower. Cleanliness is of very good standard overall, although there are some furniture that are getting old.

Breakfast buffet is ok, and has a gluten-free selection. Restaurant downstairs is good value for money for lazy -stay-around the hotel days with kids.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Its four star rating is accurate.

I have been in several hotels in Turku, but this is my favourite one. It is an ordinary hotel, but there is a good and special atmosphere. The rooms are clean and stylish, but the corridors are unattractive. If the rooms with a view of the river is available, you might want to pay a premium price.

Stayed in a suite with family (2 adults, 2 kids) during the weekend before a concert. Was able to check in about 1 hr early. The building is from the sixties or seventies, which shows, especially in the corridors and elevators. A slightly Sovietish feel....

The suite was ok, with both city and river views. Good aircon--a necessity especially in the riverside rooms. Suites have a sauna + bathroom plus separate toilet. Plumbing slightly problematic, shower not draining fast enough and flooding half the bathroom. The sauna was beyond its best days and was not very hot, but did the trick. Nice furnishings and amenities. Breakfast (in-room in a suite if you so wish) expected Radisson quality.

Fire alarm at 9.30 pm, but no need to leave the room as the situation was quickly over. The fire doors in the corridors broke down, though.

The suite price was rather steep, weekend prices in Finnish cities for a similar suite normally 50-100 euros lower.

Stayed four nights during August with two children, our luggage had been lost by Finnair but the hotel sorted us out with toothbrushes etc. Nothing was any trouble for them, during the entire stay the desk staff were always pleasant and helpful. Often relatively high standard hotels have an unfriendly feel for families with small children, but not here we felt very welcome during the entire visit. My eight year old wants to give the hotel ten out of five stars, I think based mainly on the very nice desk staff, but the river views, sweeping staircase and chandeliers did not hurt her opinion.

On arrival we discovered that our room had been upgraded to a river view location, at no extra cost. Normally this would be 10Euro a night more. The view from our room was indeed very pleasant, including even an old windmill on the far bank. The hotel faces right out onto one of the more popular parts of the riverfront, so there are restaurants in either direction a short distance away. Its a good spot for people watching and the lights on the river in the evening are lovely to see.

The room standard was very good, the permanent and temporary bed both comfortable. The standard of cleaning each day was also up to the standard at arrival.

Breakfast buffet is comprehensive, not too crowded and newspapers in English (FT) were available. If I were pressed to come up with a negative it is that the restaurant at the foot of the hotel has a quite limited choice, a buffet option would have been good for us but there are restaurants all around the area so its no problem.

We had to check out before 5 AM, in this case its recommended to sort out the bill the night before which we did. Come 4:30 next morning the desk was staffed with helpful chap and the "grab and go" breakfast and coffee was there already. Very impressive. It goes without saying that the staff all had no problem communicating in English.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are worth paying extra for in my opinion.

I stayed one night at this hotel August 2013 with my husband, mother and mother in law. We were all happy with our rooms and the choice to upgrade the room at arrival to a room facing the river. Spending 10 euro each for the upgrade is recommended.

The beds are just fantastic.

The location is very good, central in Turku and just by the channel.

Unfortunately, there were only time for one of us in the SPA during the one day we stayed here. Therefore, if you are looking for massage, be sure to book in advance.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing, although difficult to point out exactly what was missing. perhaps we were comparing with raddison palace hotel in Helsinki - were the chioces and breakfast restaurant was so much nicer. Or perhaps the breakfast room was just so uncharming.

We had an unpleasant experience at chech out. When I paid for the 3 rooms, by mistake the upgrade fee of 10 euro was not included on the bill for one of the rooms. I think this happened because the girl at the reception did not understand that I checked out all the three rooms. I did not see the mistake. The male receptionist came running out of the hotel after us - to ensure the money was paid. It felt very unpleasant and like he was accusing us for trying to escape our bill. However, for the amount of 10 euro, I would expect a hotel of this standard to handle the situation much more pleasant - perhaps even to waive the fee when he was explained the situation and that in fact it was an error on the hotel side .

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others - but 1. make sure to upgrade the room to river front and 2. check your bill to make sure it is correct before you leave to avoid unpleasant confrontations

Excellent location, very kids friendly, which is great for families. They have even kids play area in the breakfast room, which is great! 15 min walk from railway station. Staff is kind, service in the bar is average. Overall a bit expensive, but worth. Good rooms and renewed setup.

Room Tip: Ask a room with view to the river

I have stayed here with family to visit mumiworld. The hotel has good central location. It's probably not very new but ok. The main problem is that hotel itself and room was not clean good. Especially our room was not clean and we even complain about it to reception and get free parking as small compensation. The staff is ok, but it's always queue near reception and everything is slow. The breakfast was not bad, the main restaurant we did not tried as kitchen was closed early at 8 pm. It’s huge problem to have good food especially at evening when everything is closed very early. There few good place in the nearest city Naantali.
