Picked up Tintå restaurant purely looking through a menus at few restaurants' online pages; Tintå offering looked perfect for the occasion, celebrating birthday with my wife. We went for the long dinner:
apetizers were nicely put together, and the revolution of tastes was incredible. I took the beef carpaccio, whereas my wife took the tigerprawns. Both fresh, crispy and delicious.
main is always a challenge in nowadays modern kitchens. Usually the menu represents only 1 fish, 1 meat and maybe veggie portion. This in order to have always the freshest, seasons best ingredients, I guess. This makes the tasting part a bit dull, as you cannot compare and experience in the same "domain" if you can say so. In Tintå they had 2 totally different skewers, the other made of deer fillet, the other was beef fillet. Both were juicy, made on medium (-) levels as requested. This time it was my wife's portion that was the most delicious - smoke grilled flavour of the deer was just too good :-)
For the dessert we skipped the listed options, as it was noted that the cake tray in the cafe is always available. Not that the offering was not good on the menu, but we just felt for a good piece of cake. Liquorice and lemon cakes from day's offering were the top of the dinner.
In case you have already been at Tintå, and stay in Turku for a longer time, it is safe and even recommended to try Tintå's sister restaurant Blanko. It has opened again after being renovated for a year. It is inthe same house as Tintå, so if you know the address for the other, also easy to find sister :-)
