Great all you can eat breakfast with a tantalising mix of sweet (pastries and cakes) and savoury (eggs, cheese, charcuterie) as well as traditional breakfast items like yoghurt, fruit and toast. Decent coffee as well. Great value at 10 euros for the buffet and a great start to the day - I've eaten here a few times and, after breakfast, didn't eat again until dinner.

This old-fashioned café in the center of Helsinki opens already at 7.30 AM, so it is a good idea to have your breakfast here. The atmosphere is quite nice, a bit old-fashioned and cosy. The breakfast costs 10,50 euros and includes good bread, eggs, some ham and cheese, vegetables, fruit and fruit juices. At the end you must try their delicious cakes too!

Every time I visit Helsinki I enjoy the delicious cakes and excellent coffee at this old-fashioned café. There is a great variety of cakes for any taste. The last time I enjoyed here the "Budapest" cake that was beyond praise, it was really melting in my mouse. We even popped in the next door "Ekberg" confectioners shop to buy more cakes with us. The famous Ekberg "Napoleon" cake is also very good. The service is fast and prices are reasonable. I can recommend "Ekberg" café for everybody who wants a little rest and coffee while strolling the Helsinki streets.

Gorgeous setting with lovely looking cakes. Huge variety of sweet treats and breads. Staff is very friendly. A bit on the expensive side but a treat well worth!

Obviously this place is in Finland therefore the ambiance and general feel by default has to be Finnish.
However if it is your first visit to Helsinki and if by any chance you have been to Bettys in York in the North of England - that is the sort of place to expect.
Charming little café serving beautiful (both to look at and to eat) cakes.
And for those who prefer the savouries (like me) you really are spoilt for choice.
There are many breads to choose from should you want a sandwich. I cannot claim to have had them all however on the couple occasions we have been the bread has been divine.
Recommended. Just a bit pricey though.
