“Aioli to die for!”
Reviewed January 28, 2013 via mobile

Better than ok salads, though nothing spectacular. The thing are the burgers - I have mine with goat cheese. There's french fries, salad and salsa on the plate, but the real deal is the amazing, real aioli on the side - no garlic mayo here. Perfect with shake and/or a beer. Nice place both day and night.

“Good food !”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Here you have a nice little restaurant next to the dock yard and sea. This is an old restaurant for the earlier seamen, but now a days very popular for the rest of the audience too. Nice staff too.

“Near to our hotel, great service, good food”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Reasonable food at reasonable prices. Alcohol, like everywhere in Finland, is a little on the expensive side (e.g. bottle of wine starts at 30EUR). The menu wasn't *that* extensive - but this isn't necessarily a bad thing and everyone in our group found something they wanted to order. The menu had salads, soup, burgers, chicken and steak and a couple of dessert options - can thoroughly recommend the 'onion steak' (steak with some amazing caramelised onions on it) and also the hot chocolate cake pudding. Really great service, very friendly and accommodation staff. Good mix of locals, student-types and visitors.

“Nice food, nice atmosphere, nice staff”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

The name of this place is in fact Ravintola Sävel, not Ravitola Savel. Ravintola means restaurant in Finnish. This is a place which is close to our home, and we visit here every week, usually for dinner, sometimes for lunch, sometimes just for drinks. The lunch buffet here is excellent, you can have a taste of many different foods and all tend to be excellent. The danger of overeating is very real here! The menu is limited, you only get the kind of small dishes like salads, sandwiches and burgers mainly - but they are quite good, though there is nothing very original on the menu, just the usual things you can get anywhere. My choice is most of the time their caesar salad with shrimps - their version of this classic salad tastes excellent! The staff is very friendly and relaxed, all young and energetic people. Sometimes you may have to wait a bit for your food to arrive, if the place is packed; however this is rare and you probably have a good time as it's full of people then. Local people tend to come here, artists and young students, as well as middle-aged people too. The place has two floors, both are nice. Warmly recommended!
