Kappeli is a cafe-restaurant-bar situated in the Esplanadi park. It's a beautiful historical building with windows from floor to ceiling, nice atmosphere.

It is a Finnish restaurant however, so don't expect low prices or good service.

Still very much worth a visit, especially in the summertime.

Kappeli is a very traditional restaurant, quite expensive and popular. The food is good. Unfortunately, the service is somewhat unfriendly. We had reserved for a bigger group and came a bit too early. There wasn't a chance to get a table before. We could understand that but the way how it was told was somewhat cold. When we got the table, there wasn't enough place for all, as the reservation was reduced by the crew. Nobody apologized. Although we enjoyed our meal, we won't probably choose this restaurant again.

Great venue with a lot of history. Catered for veggie wheat free diet in both the main restaurant and in the cafe. The cafe was always pretty busy but they let us sit in the bar area when there were no tables free in the cafe. For a unique dining experience try to get a seat in the corner turrets.

Stopped here for a glass of wine and piece of blueberry pie while watching rock bands play on the esplanade. Pie was great and house red was solid although both were a bit pricey but that goes with the entire area. The atrium style building is worth visiting as it's light and inviting.

Kappeli is oddly decorated restaurant, noisy and the service is terrible and waiters could show some smile. Food - well, expensive and nothing special. The outside terrace is very popular, although you have to queue half an hour for overprized pint. Not worth visiting.
