Helsinki restaurants are expensive. The set menu costs more than 45 euros here, to which you should add drinks. But... This is a truly good restaurant. I had three sapas, each of them wonderfully well done, tasty, innovative, finely textured, then the day's main course, refreshing fried lavaret (or rather vendace) with a very smooth and delicate side dish wrapped in a green pancake, and finally a goat yoghurt "parfait" with white chocolate and liquorice. It was not just original or intriguing. It was up to anything I have found in Paris or anywhere for the same price. Add to this that the waitress was friendly, witty, efficient and discreet, and what you get here is quite close to a perfect dinner. Having tried the Aino restaurant on the northern Esplanade a few years ago, quite a satisfactory experience, I was not prepared to such a superb surprise. Warmly recommended.
