This is very good hotel in the middle of Helsinki. Hotel has very nice rooms and staff is quite good. Breakfast is ok and is included. WiFi is good and working. Hotel has also a new HD-TV system with a lot of movies to choose.

This centrally located hotel in Helsinki offered a nice experience to me and my wife when we were visiting Helsinki. The hotel is fairly new a therefore the rooms were in a fairly new condition with no signs of the too often seen wear and tear. Great location, service at breakfast could have been sllightly faster though.
Our second visit to this hotel and were disappointed to find that it was being renovated. However, the hotel are doing their best to avoid any uncecessary disruption and are doing a good job of it. The staff are also working hard to keep any mess down to an absolute minimum. In all, this did not disrupt our stay. We had a deluxe room on the 5th floor and heard no noise at all.
On our previous visit we were offered a standard room but quickly upgraded to a deluxe which was lovely and immediately chose a deluxe for this visit. The room was big with the most comfortable bed, pillows and bedding. We didn't manage to get to grips with the air conditioning and whilst we had it on the absolute minimum setting, the room was still hot.
The bathroom is also huge and there is a separate toilet which we have never found in another hotel. There is an abundance of toiletries, thick dressing gowns and the softest slippers ever.
Flat screen TV with quite a few English cannels. Mini bar, desk and a corner settee.
Breakfast was substantial with a wide choice of items on offer - fruit, cheese, cereal of course tea, coffee and juice.
We adore this hotel and the staff are so very helpful however, we didn't feel we could score it a 5/5 on this occasion as the website didn't explain about the renovation, the public corridor carpets need a real good clean and our room attendant only flicked over the room. The toilet was cleaned once during our stay.
For location don't look anywhere else but do wait until the work has been completed and then you will be staying at the best hotel (we think) in Helsinki.
Negative points:
- no reception,
- no lobby to welcome people as they arrive,
- no couches to wait at check-in if you arrive earlier to the hotel,
- from 7:00 am / 8:00 am even on Sundays and holidays you can not sleep anymore and the noise of hammers and machines just ends only after 5:00 pm. / 6:00 pm.
Positive points:
- rooms are quite confortable and good / new design,
- people one reception very friendly and helpful,
- breakfast good enough,
- location are excellent, near of everything important in the town,

Great hotel, very modern spacious rooms (we opted for a Deluxe Room). Lots of little extras provided e.g. slippers, robes, toiletries, sewing kit etc. The bathroom and bedroom were in a U shape with no door although the toilet was separate and did have a door! This was fine for us as we were a couple but might be a bit weird if staying with someone you don't know as well! The bed was comfy and we were courtyard facing and slept very well (no disturbances). There was refurbishment work going on at the hotel during our stay, this did not distrub us but travellers should be aware there is no bar area or place for evening meals. The builders set the fire alarm off once as we arrived back from a day out and this meant we had to walk up the stairs to the 7th floor so not ideal but not a great problem as we are quite fit! Might have been if we were old/disabled. The breakfast was mediocre, quite a selection (bacon/sausage/ boiled and scrambled egg/rice/salmon/ fruits/yoghurts/breads/ pastries/cold meats/cheese/salads) but the hot food was quite cold and it was help yourself so no waitress service. As it was included in the price of our room we ate it but i would have been disappointed if we had paid extra for it and would have gone to the cafe across the street. The best thing about this hotel is the location, we walked everywhere as it is so central for shopping/sightseeing etc). It was fab infact we never used taxis or public transport but the trams stop at the end of the street if you wish to use them. Also the sightseeing bus stops 5 minutes away in the park by Esplanade. It is also right by the port so you could go on boat trips very easily. The service at the hotel was very good, although we were given incorrect information by the lady on reception about where to walk to, to get the boat to Tallinn so we missed it, this was a shame. If you are visiting and wish to go to Tallinn for the day in winter months be advised there is a less frequent service than in summer, you have to get the boat from Tallink port which is not really walkable and also be aware check-in closes half an hour before the boat actually departs, we were not told this. We stayed in Helsinki at this hotel for New Years Eve and were in Senate Square for NYE which had fireworks and entertainment in the lead up to midnight, the celebrations start at 10pm but unless you like standing in the cold i would advise going about 11 and you still get a good spot. We could then walk back from the Square to our hotel (5 mins away) this worked out really well for us. I would recommend this hotel to others but would suggest doing own research for day trips to prevent dissapointment!
I had the pleasure of spending a night away from the every day mundane life by having a mini weekend with my wife in Helsinki albeit we live just outside but nevertheless dinner, theater and a good nights sleep is very much needed once in a while. The hotel rooms are stylish, big and the beds are one of the best I have ever slept in, in a hotel and this is to say a lot since I travel over 100 days a year in my work. There is a spa upstairs which is good for afternoon relaxing as well. The breakfast is excellent, not the best I ever had but definitely very good with a lot of variety and the lobby bar has a very good selection of beverages. The location is quite downtown just 100 meters away from Pohjoisesplanadi so this is also just right.
