We stayed ten nights in Hotel Glo on Kluuvikatu, Helsinki.

We had booked a deluxe room and deluxe undersells things!

The room was ENORMOUS.

An "office" space with a desk and chair, a large toilet, a bedroom space with a huge bed, flat screen TV, a sofa, a wardrobe, an iron + ironing board, a minibar, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and kettle, a shower/bath area with a giant sink, another wardrobe, a safe and a long mirror.

In addition to the great room we also had free access to the gym and spa.

The gym was excellent...treadmills, cross-trainers, rowing machine and various weights machines, kettlebells and free weights.

We didn't use the spa as the treatments were very expensive but the sauna was also free to us and it was lovely.

Breakfast was very good with a wide range of cereals, apple/orange juice, fresh fruit, pastries, tea/coffee, cold meats, cheese, bread/rolls, eggs and much more besides.

The staff were very efficient.

GLO is in an excellent location and is surrounded by restaurants, shops and transport links.

Hotel Glo is a modern chic boutique type hotel. We stayed in room 404, it was roomy, quite and faced the back of the property. We had a separate toilet closet from the main bathroom, very roomy. The beds were very cushiony soft which we loved. Breakfast was free and a great value for what they offered. Internet wifi also free with a fast connection. The hotel is in the heart of Helsinki - about a 10 minute walk from the main train station which the Finnair Airport Bus dropped us off at. We would definitely return to this hotel.

The Glo is not a hotel that dazzles us. But is everything else. Excellently situated in the center of Helsinki, close to almost everything, has a sleek modern design. We had booked a double room, but after our teenage daughter joined us for two nights and the hotel immediately resolved the problem providing us a larger room in order to put an extra bed. And it was really an excellent room, where it fit the extra bed, a huge and excellent bed, a sofa and room for luggage, clothes, everything needed. It was elegant and sober, as expected of Nordic design. The bathroom was also good and with interesting commodities.
The service is good, as almost everyone in Finland the staff spoke good English and was friendly and available.
The breakfast was varied and of excellent quality.
Added to this, the price was more than adequate, given that almost everything in Helsinki is very expensive, not sure if this is because it was mid summer. But I doubt that you found in Helsinki best for this p rice (less than 120 euros a double extra bed 35 euros).

Room Tip: we booked a standart room but get a very good one because we ask for extra bed

I have stayed at the Hotel GlO 3 times this year and each time it was great.
The staff were friendly , we had good quiet clean rooms with lovely bathrooms and comfortable beds, free Wi Fi and good breakfasts. Use of a sauna on the top floor was included with our last room but costs extra if you opt for the standard room. Both standards of room were fine.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the central railway station which is also the last stop for the Finnair airport bus so getting to and from it was easy.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Scandinavia and I told them that when I checked out.

I booked 4 nights at the Hotel GLO based on recommendations on this website, but the actual experience bore little relationship to reality. Although the hotel is well-located, so are a number of other hotels, including the Kamp (which is right next door). The staff at the front desk, the bar, and in the breakfast room were overworked. It took nearly 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar on a Friday evening at 11 p.m. The front desk never answered repeated phone calls from the room, but it was always because of people lined up at the front desk. The breakfast is perfectly, but hardly outstanding based on other breakfasts on offer at similarly-priced hotels around the world. The room "amenities" were heavily advertised, but none were available during my four nights. The room air conditioning was unable to keep the room at a decent temperature overnight. So many reviews seem to say things such as "great location, fabulous service, great value" but other than being well-located, I found the service to be friendly enough, but lacking in execution, and the value for the money rather poor. I would not return to the GLO Hotel on another trip to Helsinki.
