“Good hotel, except A/C”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

This was maybe 3rd or 4th time here. Good hotel, nice lobby and friendly front desk. Little outside of city centre, but near harbour(going to Estonia for example). Good breakfast too, but
only bad thing was actually really bad thing. It was really warm day and there wasn't air conditioning in the room and because one wall was all window, room was HOT.

Room Tip: Take a room with seaview

As a rule, I stay at hotels starting from a 4-star rating. Radisson Blu Season is definitely not worth 4 stars and, if my submit, a blemish to the Radisson Bu brand. It does not compare to Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Helsinki. I have never had such a crampped room and a cramped bathroom before. The noise at the breakfast room was cafeteria-like, although the atmosphere was a bit better than cafeteria like.

We stayed for 4 nights at Radisson Blue Seaside Helsinki. While not exactly sea side - this is facing the harbour and you get views of some of the cargo ships that are docked in - the experience was quite nice. We were a family of 4 with two boys and got a family suite that was sufficient for our needs. The hotel has one Italian restaurrant (pricey) and a decent breakfast buffet. The greatest advantage was to have the tram stop for # 6 across the street, which made commute to the City centre very easy. The other atttraction, often underpayed, is the proximity to the Hietallati flea market. This is a must visit 250 m walk from the hotel and we had great fun running through the bric a bracs searching for some good value Finnish ceramics and other objects of curiousity. Must also mention that the staff were very friendly all through.

There are some decent eateries in close proximity too. The only challenge was to find a McDonald's or a good take away centre, but we could manage with K Market. I would not hesitate to stay back here again.

I stayed here for a couple of nights on business. I had a very functional room with a balcony overlooking the harbour. Bed was comfortable, bathroom on the small side all very clean. Helsinki is fairly small and I actually walked up to the centre for dinner in about 10-15 minutes. Breakfast was very good. I'd happily stay here again.

Stayed for the second time in this hotel, and I'm happy I did. We (three adults) stayed in one room - a family room with an extra bed. The room was spacey and airy. There was enough space for all our three suitcases. And thanks to the separate bathroom and WC, even during the 'morning rush-hour' the room room didn't feel crowded. Further the room was spotless. The reception staff was very helpful, and the breakfast sumptuous. And the tram that stops in front of the hotel took us in no time to the city centre. All in all, great value for money.

On arrival the staff were very efficient at completing check in even though we arrived after 11pm.
My son was made to feel special as it was his birthday the staff made a point of wishing him a happy birthday
The rooms were very comfortable generally the cleanliness was very good, comfortable beds extra pillows available if needed. We had a small verander from which we could see the harbour and beyond, and parts of the city.
Breakfasts are advertised as super by Radisson and indeed they were. My son and partner were impressed by the wide selection available as was I.
The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English, all queries were answered and maps of the city given as required, their local knowledge helped us a great deal.
Transport links to the city are excellent trams are frequent even into the early hours. We went to see Kiss at the Hartwall Areena we were able to catch the number 9 tram, which was 2 mins walk away from the hotel to near the Areena.
I would recommend this hotel there are several restaurants nearby Salve being one of the best.
The Viola restaurant at the hotel seemed very pricey we as a family are not keen on Italian food. In Helsinki we recommend Stones great food at reasonable prices, the street food at the South Harbour market and Salve.
We did not want to leave, the hotel became our second home. We will be returning for 2 weeks next year.

I picked this hotel because I got the best rate. I booked through Euro Booking and was denied Radisson points. We stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of our Finland trip. The rate was about $160 for weekdays and about $98 on weekend. We got the same room both times leading us to believe booking through outside company caused us to get certain rooms. The hallways are narrow and we had about 6 steps to walk up to with our suitcases. It meant carry them up the steps. Most of the rooms did not have the steps. Breakfast was the best on our journey through Finland with many choices. The location isn't bad but needed to use public transportation which was easy to use as there is not much near the hotel. The bathroom has a threshold and caused us to stub our toes as we are not accustom to these. Rooms provide good free internet and shampoos, conditioners and shampoos.

Room Tip: We asked for a view room and were advised that was 10E more.
