“the best Finnish coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Having a good coffee in Helsinki is nothing too difficult to get, but to find a place with the for me best coffee is quite difficult a task. Right under the Uspenski Cathedral on the southern harbour front of Pohjoissatama there is this café and shop for coffee and coffee machine supplies, brick build from the out- and inside, cosy, friendly with very friendly, helpful waiters and delicious cakes and cookies. The ice tea flavours are quite uncommon (mint-bergamott f.e.) and very convincing, but the best is the freshly ground, brewed coffee with foamy, fresh milk in a few different coffee types. It is far away from the boring Starbuck's triple-frappuccino-star-blend-extra-shot-soy-milk-extra-rich-double-hazelnut-goo. It is a small oasis for excellent coffee offering a nice view and friendly moments of feeling at home in a foreign city.

“Nordic Cool Coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I walked past here whilst trying it get our bearings in the city centre. Located on a dockside overlooking sailboats and luxurious power yachts this premium coffee house is a great place for a coffee and a cake.

I ordered an Americano coffee and it was simply the best tasting coffee I had in Helsinki. My wife had a tea - which again was fabulous in quality. They have a good selection of cakes and cookies. If you're there for a a cake/coffee combo you need to think of spending about €20 for two people.

The shop itself is very bohemian and trendy... a great place to been seen with the Helsinki hipsters. There's artwork, cool furniture and great (but pricey) products to purchase.

A great experience...

“A comfy and trendy seaside cafe, cakes for vegans too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2014

We met a friend here for a long-awaited chat. The café is located at Katajannokka, at the marina. It's clearly aimed at 20- or 30-something trendy city people, not us older provincial travellers. Still, we had a nice time. I had good soy capuccino and a salty-liquorice and blueberry pie, which was excellent. If I understood, the cakes and such are mostly raw food, which is not my thing, but it was good nonetheless. Definitely worth a visit.

“Terrible cake”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014

I paid 10 euro for a cup of tea and a little piece of lemoncake. It was absolutely not tasty and I couldn't even eat that small piece. But the atmosphere in the cafe was nice. Young, fashionable people. And for me as solo traveller many nice designer magazines.
