“Great service and nice location”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

Great service, good food and nice location are excellent combination for this restaurant. It's easy to walk by. But it's worth of visit. They make tapas varieties just for you. It's unique way to enjoy great food with good friends.

“Excellent wine selection and friendly service”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Food was not as excellent as you would expect to match the wine expertise and committed service, but it was still good. It was definitely trying to be very imaginative, but I did not find all the combinations were totally successful and unfortunately everything was too salty. Since there is no menu, we had to ask them to accommodate whatever food they would bring one of our group of 4 who had some dietary limitations due to a medical condition, but these were in the end not really met, even if promised, but instead we all got the same dishes.

Still, it is worth coming here just because of the excellent, rare wines that you wouldn't get elsewhere. Unfortunately, it is very expensive, though. A glass of cava (though truly brilliant and rare) costs 13 euros. The service is not as professional as in the best places and neither is the food, so they can't really compete in the highest class of restaurants in Helsinki in anything except the price. If the price was not so high, it would be better value for money.

“Level of service which is rare to be found in Helsinki”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

This is a great place! They serve tapas (with a Finnish twist as they prefer local ingredients) and main courses. We gave our highly professional waiter full control as he seemed to know so much. This is a family ran restaurant and we happened to be waited by owners son. He is a walking encyclopedia of Spanish (especially Priorat / Penedes) wines! And this is no surprise as his father worked over a decade in the renowned winehouse of Torres. Therefore the wine selection has a lot of Torres too, nothing wrong with that (if you happen to like Spanish wines). Anyway, great tapas (three piece starter), great black angus steak and a Crema Catalan to top it off! Great stuff, and the wine suggestion by our "guide" was superb! Not the cheapest of places but if you want good service, this is the place to go in Helsinki!

“Great food, fantastic service”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

As advertized earlier on this site, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
There's no actual menu, the tapas are made based on customer's general preferences. An exciting idea and worked well.
The main dish lived up to the recommendations and praises as well.
All in all, an extremely nice restaurant in the heart of Helsinki with reasonable pricing.

“Relax and enjoy the Tapas and Wine”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Tucked away in the old town, just around the corner from the cathedral and old harbour this is an absolute gem. There is no wine list or menu; the very knowledgeable staff will guide you depending on what they have open and is drinking well. Chose your colour and style and a couple of bottles will arrive at the table complete with a full run down of the grapes, terroir, production style, ageing and details of the producer.

Tapas is of the day and is chosen by the chef depending on your likes and dislikes and what is good a the market. The chef uses local producers wherever possible,. The day we visited there the three tapas included vendaces, a small fresh water fish served with a potato salad, with red sorrel, smoked pike perch on a pea and garlic purée and a perfect gazpacho.

The main dishes change daily and were outstanding; The white fish, cooked perfectly in a charcoal oven, served with mushrooms sauted in butter with a beurre blanc. The wild boar sat on lentils, local green beans and a drizzle of a tomato sauce. Cheeses were delightful including two Finnish and a number of unpasturized French, served with a fortified wine from Jura.

Our quick stop soon turned into a longer lunch as we enjoyed the environment and wines.
