First if all, as far as I have so far been concerned there is only kind pizza, that is the traditional Pizza Margherita. The Margherita, topped with modest amounts of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. This pizza I think from the late 19th century was attributed to baker who worked at the pizzeria "Pizzeria di Pietro" in Napoli. Pizzas has come a long way since then, and particularly Finland is known for some excellent pizza restaurants, with toppings evolving from the traditional to very creative.
I have tried several pizzerias in Helsinki, and have had few pizzas at Skiffer, the Chili Con Carne, Fisherman, and a Buffalo mozzarella and basil pizza. The toppings are of high quality and the base a thin crust and the tomato sauce is superb. Service is a bit introvert and non memorable. My favorite remain the basic simple version with Buffalo Mozzarella and Basil, call me traditionalist. Skiffer has my vote as the premier pizzeria in Helsinki, for the traditionalist and the more adventurous.
