“NOT TOO MUCH INSIDE BUT ATTRACTIVE BUILDING OUTSIDE”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

We diden't use The Railway Station of Helsinki to travel .We only just see it as an attraction.
The building has a different character, with the twin statue at the front entrance.
Some small shops of flowers to welcome those who arrived, fresh fruits,card-postals
and tour-guides,chocolates, refreshments and cigarets.

“Lenin”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Lenin set off from here when he was returning to Russia to get the revolution underway. His statue is still outside the St Petersburg station where he arrived. Great clock tower and statues - and apparently it is pretty safe as no one has died in a rail accident there

“A piece of tradition morning and evening”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

The railway station has been the scene for many historical events in Helsinki.
Architecturally it is elegant and works very well. The forward tracks are now (finally...) covered from the weather, adding to the great feeling of taking a train to e.g. such international destinations as St. Petersburg and Moscow (the rail width is historically the same as in Russia).

The traditional restaurant and separate bar have had their ups and downs in terms of preserving their original heritage, but they seem to be better now than they were in an unhappy design period about 15 years ago.

“OK to travel through”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

If you arrive or depart by train, take a few minutes to wander through this large station. The bus to/from the airport is to be found there as well. Many food courts there as well as money exchange.
