“Great fun for all ages”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

If you love traditional amusement parks this is a must if you are visiting Helsinki. The park is situated close to the center and you can easily reach it by tram. The park is filled with all manner of rides, roller coasters and haunted houses. The smaller rides (11 all together) are free of charge but mainly entertain the smaller kids. The rest of the rides can be visited with an all access ticket (37 euros) or individual tickets (7e). Entrance to the park is free so if you just want to feel the atmosphere or visit the restaurants it does not cost you anything to get in. However, the food (including ice cream, candy floss, fries etc.) is rather costly so if you are on a budget bring your own snacks.

“If you have little kids and the weather's good...”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

...then go, by all means. Otherwise, the rides are short and not especially exciting when compared to the big theme parks in the U.S. We hopped off the #3 (circle tour) tram at Alppila to take a look -- there's no admission charge, you just pay for the rides -- and gave it 30 minutes. That was enough for us, but a family with kids could probably spend a couple of happy hours here.

Reviewed May 2, 2013

This oldest amusement park in Finland is located quite in the city of Finlands capital Helsinki in Alppila on a small hill. It is a memorable place for the amusement parks with it`s history to be also the first in whole Finland. It`s a nice place for the whole family to enjoy many new or renewed place like now renewed historical "Kummitusjuna" a "Ghost train!" Come and enjoy!

“Good old-fashioned fun”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Easy to get to in 10-15 minutes by tram from central Helsinki.
It's an old-school amusement park with carousels, water ride, kiddie rides, an old wooden roller coaster and a couple of white-knucklers !
Prices aren't too bad either, and it is very quiet compared to big parks. I would say it's aimed at families with youngish kids rather than thrill seekers. But it's still good fun for everyone.
The rides are divided into 3 groups depending on your height (<100cm, 100-120cm, and over 120/140 cm). There are plenty of rides even in the lowest category so it's fine even for kids of only 2 or 3.
The last time I visited (summer 2012) they had made good improvements to the catering facilities, and the buffet restaurant was very nice.
There's a Sea Life centre next door which is the same as all other sea life centres I have ever been to, but it's worth a quick visit if you're in the area or if the weather's bad.

“Good Family Day Out”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Visited Linnanmaki on two occasions whilst staying in the city. It was easy top get there by tram 3B from the central railway station and took about 20 minutes. This route takes you past the old Olympic stadium. The park is situated in the center of the city and incorporates the Sea Life Centre. Its a great place for children to enjoy themselves but best to visit when the weather is good as most rides are outside. Some of the rides are age / height related so if you have very young children there are still small rides for them and other attractions to enjoy. The only problem is that they wont want to leave! I liked the Panoramma which is a 50 metre plus observation tower in the park. It takes the visitors up to the top and you get a great view over the city. You pay one charge on entry for the type of ticket you want although some rides are free so its best to check first. There are plenty of toilets and also places to buy food but be careful the restaurant we went to in the park for lunch was really overpriced for a simple pasta and salad and not that great quality.
