I have stayed here numerous times, or at its sister hotel, the Glo Kluuvi. Outstanding hotel, very clean, well-appointed rooms, in the modern Finnish style. Glo Art's location is about 12-15 min walk from the main railway station (and bus terminal), which is really no problem with a roller suitcase, even in winter. On a quiet residential/commercial block, not far at all from major points of interest, cafes, and shops (Helsinki is the quintessential walkable capital city). Comfortable lobby with fireplace. Breakfast buffet is outstanding, with an excellent assortment of food. The relatively small restaurant can be crowded during breakfast, so bear that in mind. Staff are exceptionally professional, and helpful. On a recent trip, the front desk prepared a 4:30 am breakfast for me (with many espressos) to accommodate an early morning check-out.

We have just spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel....mum, dad and 8 year old. Lovely old building with loads of character that has been really nicely renovated. The staff were fantastic...really helpful for anything we needed. The food was simple but tasty - breakfast good - BUT, if we had a coffee machine in our room, it would have meant 5 stars instead of 4. Why is good coffee so hard to find in Europe generally? (apologies of course to Italy...)

The Glo Art had very comfortable and spacious rooms with a great breakfast buffet. Not only was the front desk staff helpful in correcting a room reservation snafu caused by Tingo/Expedia they were happy to make reservations for us at restaurants, too. We loved the access to bicycles and at only 5 euros for the whole day it is a great deal. I highly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: We went with the Double Room and I think it added more space which was worth it.

My wife and I booked the standard double room. Based on the square footage for the "smart double room" on the hotel web site, I expected a sleeping area about the size of our master bedroom at home. However, the square footage includes EVERYTHING, including the bathroom. The double bed was very comfortable but to access the side of the bed away from the doorway required a sideways shuffling around the bed, or climbing over the other person. There is nowhere to sit except on the bed. Book a larger style of room if you want a chair. There is an OK reading room off the lobby with English language newspapers, a great breakfast, and complimentary WiFi. Very quiet nights, and effective curtains, so we slept great even during the white nights. Very convenient to the bus station.

Room Tip: The square footages on the hotel web site include the bathroom and entryway.

I got my room for less than 100 euro which I think is a fabulous price for this hotel. the room was large, comfortable, and well appointed. my rate didn't include breakfast which was fine. the market building is undergoing renovations and has relocated right down the street from the hotel. 4€ for breakfast there, surrounded by Finns. my favorite part about the hotel was the 5€ day bike rental. you got the bike til midnight and they we comfortable, have a lock, and come with a helmet if you wish. reserve early as its first come first served.

I booked this hotel for my solo trip to Helsinki. I booked the smart room and it was small. It's enough for one person but I can imagine how crowded and uncomfortable it would be if two person were to share the room. Other than that, the location of the hotel is awesome. Just around 15 minutes walk from the train station and around 10 minutes walk from the Central Bus Station. The stay was a cosy one although one thing I would prefer is that the bathroom should be bigger. Other than that, clean and cosy. I would go back here again if I ever visit Helsinki again.

Room Tip: Get the normal rooms if you want more space. Solo travelers can opt for the Smart rooms.
