The hotel is very conveniently located on the main avenue of Helsinki. Opposite a large shopping center Stockmann. All attractions nearby. There are a lot of bars and restaurants. At my request, we were given an early check in and settled at the hotel at 9:00 am. We booked a standard room. The room was overlooking the hotel's courtyard. The room had a double bed and a separate living area with a sofa and a table. The bathroom with shower only. From cosmetics only shower gel on the wall. The bathroom had a hair dryer. The room is clean, but a little out of date and needs repair. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Very large selection of products, including bio. We had dinner at the hotel. Very well and good. Hotel has a sauna, but we did not use it. Room rate was very affordable for the Scandinavian countries - 77 euros per double room

Room Tip: Superior rooms at the hotel after repairs

This is my second time in “Marski” hotel since December 2011. Everything is excellent as usual. Nothing has been changed or worsened. Why I like it? No problem to repeat it again.
First of all, it takes only five minutes to get the Railway Station from the hotel by walk. There you can take the trains to any other town of Finland or to Saint Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. It takes only three hours and fifty minutes to travel to Saint Petersburg, Russia by “Allegro” train. Big hypermarkets such as the “Stockman”, “Forum” and “Sokos” are situated either in front of the hotel on the other side of Mannerheim Avenue or in the next building. The National Museum of Finland and Ferry Boat terminal are situated in the ten minutes walking distance. Taking that ferry boat you can get the Suomenlinna (Sveaborg) fortress with its museums. It will take about eighteen minutes walk to get the Military Museum at the intersection of Maurinkatu and Liisankatu Streets.
The twin room was again pretty big, the bed was very comfortable. There were the TV set, refrigerator with mini bar, central heating and air conditioner in the room. Such useful things as the iron and ironing machine were also found in the room. Bath room was big enough and was equipped with the comfortable bathtub. Hairdryer is available in the bathroom too. Everything was quite new and clean.
Free Wi Fi is available in the Hotel and free internet connection via the desk top is available downstairs at the ground or zero floor. Parking although with the limited space but still available.
Food in the restaurant was good and plentiful. Amazingly but is a matter of fact there were several hundreds of people in the restaurant during the breakfast time but there were neither crowds nor long queues and free places at the tables were available.
Hotel provides you the opportunities to attend free sauna and gym. All personnel were very helpful and spoke fluent English. So, everything is lake during the old good times!

I stayed in the hotel 1 night on 17th of August, Friday. Hotel has great central location in Helsinki. I was given the keys of a room in the top floor. I entered the room and the room stayed with sunshine the whole day. Total WARM. I said, no problem, a little bit of air-condition would solve the problem. And the show started. Air condition was not working. I pick up the telefone to call the reception. And the phone was also not working. So I decided to go down to the reception to receive a new room. Reception said that the hotel was fully booked and they cannot give me a new room. They offered me a fan (ventilator) instead to blow warm air into my face in the room. But I was clever; the corridor where the room was, was cold enough, air-condition was working there outside. So I placed the fan just at the entrance and left the room door open for the whole afternoon to get fresh cool air into the room. Very nice solution for a 5 star central hotel in one of the most modern capitals of europe. Reception informed me that the air condition cannot be repaired because technical service already left the hotel for the day. hmmmmm, 5 star hotel does not have any 24 hours technical service?????Poor performance. Then a non-english speaking lady was bringing me new telefon and tried to replace it with the broken one. She couldn't fix it and were telling me something in finnish, which I did not understand and then left. The phone was not working during my whole stay. Next Day I payed only the half room rate (original room rate was 120 EUR) but this did not provide me any comfort in return. I waill never prefer Scandic Marski again.

The Room we had was comfortable and and had all the necessities needed. Shampoos bodylotion etc. all ecological.
What reduced our review one point was the poor and rather distastful breakfast.
The hotell is situated directly in the centre. The noisy traffic outside could not be heard at all.
The receptionists were all very helpful. However not selling stamps is unpractical.

Scandic Marski Hotel is located in Central Helsinki about 10 mins walk from the main train and bus station, The main shopping area is very close and the department store Stockman is just accross the street. I was in the hotel for 4 weeks on buisness so I guess I know what the hotel is really like, Got to say it is all good, the staff are very friendly and spaeak excellent english, did have a problem in room 608 as there was no Air con working but they quickly found me another room, as other review writers commented the rooms are quite large and fully equipped with mini bar and free Wi fi everywhere... the bar is good and not over priced for a city centre hotel, the breakfast buffet is excellent and has both a warm and cold buffet, you can even get boiled eggs with a choice of cooked for 4 or 7 min! the lunch time buffet is also excellent value and under €10, The evening menu is continental with steaks, burgers and of course fish, my overall impression of the hotel is good but as other revewers commented the rooms are looikng a little tried.
