“Perfectly ok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

I stay here a lot with work- it's perfectly ok but can get very busy in the summer months when the cruise ships are visiting .
Gym and saunas are good and the restaurant is reasonably quick with a good menu.
Breakfasts can get very busy when the hotel is full and sometimes need to share a table.
Prices can get expensive in the summer .

The hotel is very conveniently located walking distance to Helsinki centre. It is clean and perfect for a one-night stay. We paid 132 Euros for a family room, we stayed with 2 adults, 2 children and it was spacious.
It is walking distance to Tallin ferry, Viking and Silja Line. If you arrive at Vantaa airport, take the Helsinki shuttle (around 6 Euros, children go free?) to the central station and it is a short walk to the hotel.
Breakfast was a bit hectic, as there were a lot of people; but staff did their best to refill the buffet.
We had an problem with the guests in our neighbouring room; they made a lot of noise, door banging, running up and down the corridor etc. I spoke to the front desk and she politely and swiftly dealt with the situation and we had a perfect night sleep.
Tips: Go to breakfast around 8.30, before the hordes are coming:)
If there is anything you do not agree with, let them know. They were very helpful and happy I told them.
There is a large locker room to leave your luggage before/after check-out.
Make sure to book early, they have great discounts.

This is a nice enough hotel near the Marina; rooms are a bit on the small side, but comfortable and the restaurant is good. There are terraces out the front where lots of people seem to sit in the warm weather with a drink. The location is near the marina and market, and the Esplanade and the shopping areas are about 10 minutes walk away - there is a taxi rank right outside the hotel if you are not keen on walking. Staff are efficient and friendly with a high standard of English.

The room is very small, with the basics, but it was fine for me since I was sleeping just for one night. The building is old, with long corridors, but it is ok (it doesn’t smell old). The shower and the breakfast were really good. The staff is very friendly and speaks good English. There are bikes that the guests can use for free (I recommend you do that). The price is expensive if you consider the small room, but for Helsinki it is a good price, according to my search for hotels. The city is very expensive. The hotel is close to the sightseeing boats and to a nice open air market to have lunch and buy souvenirs.

Though this hotel is centrally located, it is tucked away with nothing around it. As i was travelling by myself, i found it uncomfortable walking into town, the staff were also quite unhelpful. An example is i arrived at 800am after travelling for 25 hours and despite my room being empty, would not chek me in until 12. Unless i paid extra, i then found out a few days later that i could of showered in the sauna area. The roomonly had a single bed and was quite claustraphobic. No toiletries or kettlemin room. Breakfast was buffet style and very nice. However restaurant menu not extensive and not openned on a sunday.
Would not stay here again. Hotel Arthur much better value.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and efficient at check-in and check-out. Breakfast selection was good and even though the hotel was full it was stress-free. Outside the hotel is a terrace where you can enjoy a relaxing drink.
The hotel itself is a former warehouse, and there are large reinforced concrete pillars throughout the hotel (two in my room) but you quickly get used to them! The window in my room was quite narrow but full-height. Free (and fast) internet.
Recommended.
