Visited couple of times. We liked the food and the atmosphere. It was one of the few places that were open in Helsinki on Sunday lunchtime. Better than many other restaurants in the area. Food is good and tasty, they make good veg indian food

I work just opposite to Kantipur and it's our regular lunch restaurant. The staff is really friendly, price level affordable and atmosphere cosy.

I recommend trying Kukhuro Malwani (15,90€): chicken in a creamy sauce with spinach, tomato and cashew nuts.

We wanted to find a Nepalese/Indian restaurant from Helsinki with tasty food to offer - a place which wouldn't make us regret eating there - and found it! :) We visited Kantipur during lunch time but ordered from the Á la carte list. We didn't have to wait for the food for too long and could eat in peace despite the small size of the restaurant. The decoration of the place was very nice and you could see that they have at least put some effort into making the place comfortable.

I ate Hariyali Paneer, a vegetable dish with spinach and home-made cottage cheese + cream. The food itself had just the right amount of spices in it and the cottage cheese tasted like it should: soft and full-bodied. The raita-sauce, however, was a bit watery in my taste and I didn't take too much liking into the brown sauce, which comes with every food, either. The metal plates (I'm not sure whether they are common in Nepalese dining?) are a bit off-putting to my taste but the tasty vegetarian meal was tasty enough to make me overlook it. :) The Naan-bread was very tasty! The second best Naan I've tasted so far (best that I've tasted in Helsinki). ;) And what was good was the fact that it was included in the meal.

The prices were average: sometimes below, other times over the "normal" price of the certain types of foods. Creamy vegetarian dishes with spinach and/or cottage cheese were quite expensive (Hariyali Paneer was 14,90e) , whereas some of the meat dishes cost less than the vegetarian ones = ?

The service was very friendly and effective. They could pay a bit more attention to the table settings, though. ;)
