We recently did the day trip from Helsinki to Tallinn. While it was a rather long day, it was still worth it to see part of Estonia. Such an amazing little city, cobblestone streets, lots of old world history. We loved it!!

The ship itself isn't that great though. They don't just have a place to sit! It's all restaurants & cafes which are always full. We ended up having to sit on the floor. This needs to be addressed. Food is also pretty average.

The Viking experience is extremely different depending on the ship. One is really old (Mariella) and run down and one is very nice (Gabriella).

It is good transportation to maximize your days sight-seeing. If time was not an issue, I would go by plane.

The food on board in okay. They talk about all the lavish buffets, but we did not think they were a good value. On the Mariella, they do have a nice little tapa bar where you can get nice appetizers.
Enjoyed the massage on the Mariella. One hour was about 90 euro.

We took the Viking XPRS for a day trip from Tallinn to Helsinki. Check in was quick and easy at Tallinn. They also checked us in there for the return journey in the evening which saved time in Helsinki. We had the Sea Breakfast buffet which had a good choice of food with sausages, scrambled egg, beans, cereals, bread, ham, cheese, fruit & pastries to help yourself to. Very tasty!

We had no problem getting a seat on either journey but I don't think the ship was full. Had a look round the shop and enjoyed the views from the decks even though it was pretty cold. It is particularly nice going into Helsinki past all the little islands and the Suomenlinna fortress.

On arrival in Helsinki the terminal is pretty central and we just walked into town. If you have luggage there is a tram stop outside where tram number 4T stops.

There was even a Finnish band playing on the return journey. Not really to my taste but they seemed popular. A good day out was had by all!

We took three days trip with two nights onboard and one day in Helsinki. We spent ridiculously small amount of money with IKEA-card for 4 people (around 100EUR). A very good idea was to take a B4Large cabin and the Viking breakfast (booking in advance on-line was a little bit cheaper). It was nice buffet with variety of things! Definitely worth taking

The cabin wasn't five stars class, but we didn't expect that. It was clean, spacious (13m2) and comfortable with tv, where you could alsoobserve the sea and all islands we were passing, that was really cool!
We didn't eat any dinner on board, only breakfast. We weren't either interested in partying all night, most of the time we admired views on the sundeck! There were a bunch of different entertaiments for people all age: dance floor, bingo, there was a life music and there was karaoke as well.
Seven hours in Helsinki was perfect and enough to see most important things.

It is a good idea for a weekend, with family, couples, and with kids. But if you expect the highest class of standard you might be disappointed. I woul say it was good+ class. I also recomend to eat dinner in Helsinki before departure and buy some small things for supper, because prices onboard are much much higher and food is worse.

I took a trip with MS Amorella from Stockholm to Turku and back in one day. I had a "luxury" room for a bargain price. Front view was amazing. I had, however, to ask for a new room as one window was blind, and was given the suite. The rooms are ok in principle, but are somewhat outdated and worn. Cleanliness should also be improved. Food (breakfast in the main restaurant and tapas for lunch) were really good. It's convenient to check in at Stockholm central station and take a bus to the terminal.
