This is a lovely spot but we were very disappointed in the lack of flexibility for a vegetarian and another guest who did not eat beef. We had corresponded in advance about our dietary limitations and told them that our guests would be celebrating their anniversary. We had been assured that it would be fine. However our meal was neither very festive nor very substantial. Perhaps it was our fault for ordering a shorter menu but our vegetarian son had to stop for a sandwich on the way back to the hotel. Another issue was difficulty we, as English speakers, had in understanding the descriptions of the various courses. I had the sense that they were eager to have our business (it was a holiday weekend and they were not very busy) but not all that happy to actually cook for us.
