This is an incredible building and easily accommodated hundreds of attendees. A very nice dinner was served preceded by a piano concert by a local artist.

We had a conference banquet here at Finlandia Hall, and it was lovely. The venue was plenty large, the food good, and the acoustics were really nice for the piano music we heard. It wasn't an "official" tour, but an enjoyable way to see the place.

A world famous Concert Hall where so many noted recordings have been made by so many" greats" over the years. . If you get the chance do go to a concert do.. Easy to get to as one of the local trams drops you almost out the front and returns you to a very central city location near Stockmann;s department store.. Tickets for performances can be purchased at Stockmann's or at least that is where were able to get ours. .. Yes, the setting and the architecture are spectacular, but the acoustics within really enhances one's visit. A real treasure and must for any true music lover.

As several of you who so kindly visit my stream have pointed out, it is no doubt time that I tried something else... So, unless my little iPhone experiment from a few weeks back counts, this is my first attempt at architecture :-)

Not really sure what to think about when taking these photos. Perspective, angles, light etc seem to present very different challenges when pointing the camera towards the sky :-) And, yesterday's totally overcast sky in Helsinki also wasn't ideal for this type of shot. Too many clouds and they just turned into a grey mass during the long exposures... But it was indeed very fun to try something new, and I spent quite some time walking around this wonderful building to look at it from different angles
