Karl Fazer Cafe is a great place to have a cup of coffee and they have a pretty good selection of both salty and sweet pastries. The mocha as well as regular coffee are excellent, and I have no complaints about the cheesecake either.

Hi travellers,
If you are hungry in the morning, a stop in Karl Fazer cafe will make you happy for the rest of the day. For only 12€, you can choose salty or sweet food. Situated in Kluuvikatu, it is at 5 minutes from Central Railway station by foot and at 2 minutes by foot from the symbol of Finland, the Senate Square (Alexander II statue and its Tuomiokirkko stunning white church).
Place to share in family, with friends or in couple.

Fazer is the place where all the kids in Helsinki have eaten an ice cream portion back in the old days. The cafe still looks the same as thirty some years ago. A bit expensive, but the pastries, salads and ice creams are from fresh ingredients and so tasty! Brunch on Sat and Sun is popular, preferable book a table in advance. Try the Fazer cakes, especially their chocolate cake is the best there is. You can also buy pastries and bread to go and if you are lucky, you can witness the baker garnishing a cake in the glass-wall kitchen. Really Finnish, really tasty! And ps. If you want to find a place to go with your kids late in the Saturday evening, this is the place be! No one is here to have only alcohol (like in most places downtown Helsinki on a Saturday night) Parents can have their glass of wine/cup of coffee/late snack while kids can enjoy their ice cream.

Pretty expensive and not as cozy as some cafés in Helsinki but the quality is always good. It's not probably the most original place to visit but a safe choice when you want something sweet & yummy.

The cakes here are simply awesome. This is my most favourite coffee place in the city. The chocolates and coffee are very good too.
