The room we had was for two people, spacious comfortable and every amenity you'd ever need. Sauna, clothes drying facilities and dishwasher to name a few. A small balcony looking onto the slopes, perfect for a few nice photos but at -10 we didn't fancy sitting out. Located just a stones throw from the two main front lifts you can virtually ski back to the hotel door.
Staff onreception were very helpful and spoke pretty good English. The breakfast although good value for money did become a little repetitive, Personally if I was to return I would have Breakfast in the room every other day and pay for the hotel breakfast as an when we fancied going down.
The supermarket is situated just behind, a two minute walk in either direction and they have everything you would need for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Another plus about Ruka Suites you don't have to get dressed up in warm clothes coats hats and gloves if you fancy going out for a drink, lunch or evening meal. Attached to the hotel is an American sports bar also serving snacks, a sushi restaurant and an American style restaurant with a fantastic selection of meals.

I've stayed in several ski hotels round Europe and this is one of the best yet.

This isn't hotel related but Skiing/snowboarding in Ruka is perfect for a first/second ski Holliday, beginners and family's with young kids.
My Daughter is 7, has been snowboarding for just under 2 years and by the end of the week she was getting from top to bottom of the longest run in under 2 minutes. All the slopes are usually open for the 23rd December

We stayed in these self contained apartments for one week in 2016. They are clean, well maintained and in a good location, in the middle of the resort and connected to the small indoor shopping centre by a tunnel which is handy if it is minus 20 degrees outside as it means you don't have to pile on the layers before popping out for a pint of milk!

Our apartment had all the kitchen utensils and cleaning equipment you would expect to find in a self contained apartment of this rating and the comfy bed was already made up with clean, bed linen.

Our only gripe was that the room was sometimes a little on the cooler side and the thermostat was set to not go up any higher, however there were plenty of spare duvets and blankets in the apartment so that was only a minor thing.

The apartments are super cozy with plenty of space, fully equipped kitchen, sauna (some with jacuzzi), dining area and living area, ample storage for clothes etc. Washing machine and dryer and even hairdryers! Great beds, towels and everything perfectly clean! Most of all: perfect location in the center of the town! Great places to dine around you, shops, supermarket.

Room Tip: All apartments are great! Not noisy at all!

First time visit to Ruka Dec 2016. Ruka Suites we the perfect location and everything a family needs. Clean, simple and comfortable. Excellent helpful reception staff too. Slopes are 2 mins walk away if you are a skier. There is also the bus 1 min walk away to the beginners slopes.

Room Tip: Ask for a rear view...

Last year we stayed in Ruka Village which was top top - this year we didnt need 3 bedrooms so went with Ruka suites which was cheaper( by Finland standards, everything in Finland is expensive). We paid less and got less BUT it really is all you need, clean, well equipped suites within easy reach of everywhere. The one problem was the noise, we overlooked a car park over new years eve and it was noisy all night. This was compounded by very warm rooms so we had the heating off and the windows open...other nights weren't quite so bad. I think if you had rooms at the back ( we were in 36 c, the other side of the corridor, D rooms , are behind) you wouldn't notice any noise. Ruka is wonderful - easy slopes for novices, brilliant ski school - really relaxing. It was very cold on a few days though so make sure you have good kit!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back would be quiter
