We were seeking information on the influence of the seasons on humans, animals and vegetation. Also the way the Aurora Borealis may affect. This could not be provided unfortunately.
The coffeebar is satisfactory.

I managed to fit this in after a day tour to ranua wildlife park I arrived at 4.30pm and they close at 6pm. €12 entry or €20 pass for all three museums valid for a week. Took me 1h to go through. Cool gift shop too with stamps postcards and a letter box. Lots to see nice displays not everything is translated to English. Stuffed moose, bear, polar bear, reindeer and husky on display. The Sami culture on display is great with their outfits and handmade utensils etc.

Impressive museum, with lotso of lovely photo opportunities inside and out. Overlooks the river from a curved wall of windows.
Museum shop is very good
If you walk from the centre of Rovaniemi during Winter like we did - you'll be sure to have too many jackets, hats and scarves - i was very grateful to find plenty of free lockable storage units opposite the museum shop.
Really interesting animal exhibit (especially if you didn't see much at Ranua Zoo!) and the people of the north exhibits were also very educational.
There was a nice looking restaurant which we didnt eat at - but if you need a snack it looked quite nice for meals.

We found the exhibition very interesting. A cinema, a lot of information, pictures and exhibits give detailed information about the topics I expected. Unfortunately for kids there is not much to do and so parents are always in a hurry.

The museum is just the right size not to be too boring or tiring to explore. The Aurora video is amazing and should be watched at least twice.
The exhibitions are well presented, adults aa well as youngsters can find them to be interesting.
