The accomodation was excellent, room was clean with a balcony overlooking the river & its en suite bathroom & sauna. Friendly staff, the food was great and even the half board menu was varied. Buffet breakfast and 3 course meal at night. The bar area with its log burning fire was a great place to spend each evening after a day out in the snow.

Outstanding hospitality by hotel staff. We stayed in the new part of hotel, rooms were clean and warm with balcony. Food was excellent, with alternate fish and meat main meals and for my mum they would change the main meal with no problems. All the outside activities snowmobiling, cross country skiing, huskie and reindeer sleigh rides were all done with professional guides and were all brilliant. The BEST and most FANTASTIC part was seeing the Northern Lights from the hotel as well as on the lake and we saw the lights 4 nights out of 6, it was also -35 the whole time we were there.

We spent 6 nights over Christmas at Kultahovi Inari; I have to say that even though the rooms were quite basic, this is completely outweighed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the restaurant. Kaisu is an incredible host who couldn't do more to help you, and the ladies in the restaurant were genuinely friendly and interested in what you had to say, be it your day's events or what's good to do in or around Inari i.e. it wasn't "customer service", it was genuine attention and conversation; fantastic We found the food in the restaurant to be of a very high quality, and subsequently ate there most nights. I highly recommend this hotel, and highly recommend a trip to Inari, best holiday ever. Thank you to Kaisu and all her staff for making us feel so welcome

Easy access to and from Rovaniemi. Bus just stops in front of the hotel.
We stayed at the deluxe room which was separated from the main building. Our room was spacious with a private sauna. The bed was a bit too soft to me.
Food was very nice in the restaurant. I had white fish and my sister had super big prawn noodles. Noodles was in a big portion.
The river is just next to the hotel. Day view is very nice.
We had a short walk around. There's a school nearby along the river and then it's the residential area. The Sami culture museum is just around 15 mins walk the other way. On the way there's a patrol station and a restaurant. You can get something cheaper to eat there if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
We saw weak aurora on the night we're there. Took some pics by the river. You can actually see the aurora from your room if the aurora is strong enough.
Clean and warm room. There's also a dryer by the door, in case you need to dry your damp clothes out in the cold winter.
Breakfast buffet was nice. We needed to leave early in a morning and they arranged early breakfast at 6:45am for us. The breads were warm!! What a nice treat in a cold morning!

We stayed 2 nights in the original section of the hotel in October 13. The room is fairly basic but very functional, comfortable and warm with windows opening so you can hear the sound of the rushing river all night, which is just metres from the hotel. Bathroom again functional and adequate. You could easily spend a week in one of these more moderately priced rooms. Made all the easier by the fantastic locally sourced and based evening meals in the restaurant, the relaxing ambience of the lounge and sit-around fireplace. They have a great wine list and quite reasonable for the location in the high Arctic circle. Breakfast is nourishing and sufficient for a hotel in this situation, you won't be disappointed. In addition, as a guest of the older section you can have access to the traditional sauna cabin located a short stroll and right beside the river and can be booked for private sessions. The staff are very helpful and assisted us with a self conducted tour to Tula's reindeer farm, including arranging the transport. Tula and her reindeer are unmissable, if you want a very personal experience of modern Sami culture and lifestyle. Also, the SADII Sami cultural centre is a must. You will be disappointed that you came all this way and missed out on either of these things. Seeing the Northern Lights at 2 AM is just a bonus! Take a walk in the nearby forest, you will be amazed by the variety of mushrooms and berries growing wild everywhere. All up, it's not luxury and doesn't aspire to be but we agree with others who have commented that it's one of the nicest and friendliest hotels we have stayed in.

Room Tip: Book a room on the river side. Don't pre-pay for meals, you get a much wider choice a-la-carte and you won't faint at the cost. Talk to the staff about the history and things to do around Inari, they are more than willing to help you in this very small town.
