Stayed with a friend, delightful room . We had a ground floor twin in the new section. We went in winter and were able to step out the door into lovely deep snow with the river close by, even though mostly ice it was very picturesque. We saw the Northern Lights one night just outside our room, mainly white in colour with hints of green . It had a very effective drying cupboard and also our own personal sauna in the bathroom. The breakfast although not a big selection ( porridge and boiled eggs the only hot food ) was good.
The restaurant and bar overlooked the river, the food except for one disappointing mushroom crepe was outstanding, seafood pasta delicious. Alcohol on the dearer side as with most of Finland. A delightful place to stay, very peaceful and pretty. Inari is only a very small village and transport from Ivalo ( the nearest airport) is by taxi which is very expensive, we were lucky enough to share the cost with another couple. There is a bus from Ivalo with an infrequent schedule. Friendly and helpful staff.More
