“Superb like going back in time”
Reviewed February 27, 2014 via mobile

We got on the number 11 tram from the city centre - about 45 minutes. The boat times are co ordinated so we didn't have to wait for a boat. The trip was 20 minutes we then had a lovely un spoilt walk around Branno. We had planned to stay for a couple of hours and ended up staying for 4 hours - a back to nature trip, we laughed loads as we walked the marshy land following the nature trail - wet feet by all.

“Walking on Hönö Island”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

The southern archipelago of Sweden is really interesting to walk. It is a windy area (take a jacket anf fix your hat!). Hönö is one of the numerous islands.
From Göteborg, you must take a ferry (free). We traveled by car but you can also go by bus (The bus goes from the Nils Ericson bus terminal in central Göteborg to the ferry terminal at Lilla Varholmen.). It is about 15 minutes to get to Hönö Island.
You can walk on the rocks by the sea; the landscapes are wonderful especially if it is a sunny day. Simply breathing such fresh air worth the excursion.
You must also taste the shrimp sandwich; we went to a nice typical restaurang : Tullhuset.
Try to locate the entrance (which is nowadays blocked with big stones) of an old bunker.

“Truly beautiful, however everything is closed in winter”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Especially the smaller souther islanda like Vangö, where no cars are allowed, are absolutely worth a visit. Even just by taking the boeat ride around the islands (you can board with the same ticket you use for any other publich transport in the city) you and get a unique view of the nordic coast with it's tiny rocks and islands looking out from the water viturally everywhere.

The only issue we found was that there were no shops or cafés open in the winter season.

“Best outing in Gothenburg on your own or with family”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

A total of thirteen islands with easy transportation for eleven of those in high season.
Brännö or Styrsö best for food or drink but Vrångö has opened a new cafe meant to
be run year-round !
Some islands are close-knit societies but you can go for envigorating walks or just enjoy the searide . Vargö best for bathing or if you prefer sandy beach Vrångö. Excellent brochure
at Styrsöbolaget (English & Swedish)

“Brännö Island has a really cool view and a escape to the nature.”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

It's pretty easy to go to any of the Islands, just go to Saltholmen by Tram and from there take the boats, if you have a monthly or 3 day Västtrafik card the boat ride is included. Brännö is a really cool island that has beautiful houses and good hiking trails that you can check some nature and view of the coast. If it's summer don't forget to take a swim.
