We appreciated everything about the hotel: location near the train station but with double paned windows so we heard no train noise; beautifully appointed suite, with full kitchen and lots of well-designed storage area; free laundry for guest use; excellent breakfast and also tasty free evening meal. The staff were across the board friendly and helpful (and could speak English) -- housekeeping staff as well as those at the desk. We were able to leave our luggage in a locked room after check out, to allow us to explore for a half-day before our evening train to Oslo, and when we picked it up still felt welcome to enjoy a half hour of free wifi, along with the free coffee, tea and hot chocolate (and brownies!) We got to stay (thanks to having accumulated Choice Privileges points) in a suite originally deigned as a corporate apartment (as the hotel information describes--noting that the building originally housed the Ford Motor Co. offices in the 1930s). The apartment was wonderfully spacious and beautiful, complete with wood floors, leather furniture, large windows (with blackout curtains for summer) and a full kitchen. We liked Gothenburg a lot, doing a great deal (got the "go:" card for discount admissions/travel for 24 hours) during our short weekend stay, and would gladly return--and most certainly to the Clarion Collection Odin.
