Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It's located right at the central bus and train station. Most of the sights are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and just the right size. The breakfast room is quite lively at the weekends, decent quality and big variety of the breakfast buffet. I can highly recommend the hotel for a city trip to Gothenburg.

Great hotel, the entry is over the bus terminal so it looks a little chaotic yet once inside the hotel and indeed the room all is calm, rooms are tucked away at the back in a very chilled out area. The view from the room looked out into a peaceful atrium. Rooms were relaxing, clean and a fair size. Absolutely top notch buffet breakfast pushes it to 5 stars for me. I'm getting hungry now thinking of those delicious swedish meatballs :-)

This hotel is situation above the train station so is perfect for late or early departures. It was quite a basic room, but clean and we had a good sleep so that's all you can ask for considering the price. Not somewhere I would suggest for an extended stay.

I have to agree that it's perfect for arriving or departing by train, and perfect for a first visit to Gothenburg. There are tons of casual eating places in the station or nearby, plus services such as money exchange. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived midday and was able to check into the room right away. I made a few phone calls and took care of some business. The free wi-fi was a nice touch. I was able to stay only one night, but I would have been happy even with a longer stay. The evening of the second day, as I was using the lobby for some business, I noticed they had some aperitifs they were offering to guests checking in. You don't see that too often nowadays.

The decor is nice wood and is certainly pleasant to view. "Trendy" is a good description, but in a very good way. There is no noise that I could hear, even though the train tracks were fairly close by. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and neat, with a good shower.

The breakfast room was simple, but nice enough, and a good selection of food was on offer. How much food do you really need to eat? Besides, it was included in my room rate. If you don't like that, there are some other places in the station or nearby that you can walk to, including at nearby hotels like the Radisson Blu (just across the plaza). But, I can tell you that you'll pay a lot for a marginally better breakfast.

Again, it's not perfect, but the price is extremely good for the area, and the location can't be beat. You could stay farther away and pay more than the difference in taxi fares to get to and from your destination. Renting a car is probably out of the question, due to cost. There is a nice tram system that can take you all over town for a small fee. I didn't find the area around the station to be that bad, but I did not have a lot of time to explore the area. There are several other hotels nearby, so pick one of those if you are looking for "luxury" or a different experience. This turned out to be a great choice.

I'd certainly go back on my next visit.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors and try to get a room on one of the end wings. You might see the bridge goi...

You can't get a more convenient location than this if you are departing an early morning by train. Just an escalator right down to the station.

Very friendly staff, great breakfast, as always in Sweden, and very modern and clean rooms.

For sight-seeing in Gothenburg, not so great as the area around the station is a bit dicey.

There are not a lot of frills about this hotel. The breakfast room is bleak and the food very poor by Scandinavian standards. The rooms are adequate and certainly not plush.our room had not view except across to the next set of rooms.

However it is all about location and if you are travelling by train this is definitely the place to stay as it is built right over the station. Also the staff were very helpful and checked our air conditioning for us as the room was too hot. The hotel is also very convenient to the large shopping centre opposite. It is easy to walk to the city centre or trams are easy to find too. Yes, I would stay there for a night or two if travelling by train.

This was our second stay here - we previously stayed in December 2010 when we found an excellent rate through Expedia. This time, we booked with 24 hours notice through their own website - the rate was excellent (875sek for the night). Both times we have stayed we have arrived significantly earlier than the check in time, but have been accommodated with no fuss or difficulty. An added perk this time was receiving a voucher for two free glasses of wine at the bar as we had booked through the website.

The room is decent, comfortable and pleasant to be in. Slightly more lighting would be appreciated, but Swedes seem to enjoy the dark. The artwork on the walls is ... frightening ... but art is a personal thing. The beds are extremely comfortable, the armchair cosy, and the mini bar doesn't threaten to charge you for opening the door. The bathroom is lovely, with a great shower and underfloor heating (which was particularly appreciated when we visited in winter).

I particularly liked the opportunity to look out of the window and see trains in the station, without having to hear them. The bar and restaurant is pleasant, with plenty to look at as it overlooks the station.

The location couldn't be better - it's easy to reach from either airport in Gothenburg as well as the station, and it's close to oodles of restaurants, cafes, bars and so on. Will definitely be staying here next time we're in Gothenburg.
