Stayed here twice in July '1, the location is great, easy to get anywhere. A very good value, breakfast was nice. Roons are cleanly designed and clean. A good value, I would stay here again for sure.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (25-27th July 2011). Transport links are great from the airport, just take the airport bus for about £6 one way, and it drops you practically outside the hotel.
The hotel itself is fab, great location (right above central station), clean rooms and the staff are helpful. As Gothenburg is not a very large city, all tourist attractions are close by. I would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Take the Landvetter Bus from the airport!

Stayed here in connection with the Big 4 concert in July. The hotel was filled with beer drinking rockers, and the atmosphere was great!

The hotel rooms are pretty standard, nothing special, but with good basic quality.

The gym is small, but functional with a bike,a couple of treadmills and some weights.

The location is fantastic, it's within walking distance to all central Gothenburg attractions. Liseberg is maybe a bit too far for a walk for most of people, it took us around 20 minutes.

I read in the local newspaper that the Big 4 stayed at the Elite Plaza hotel, will check that out next time I'm in Gothenburg.

The hotel is conveniently located within 100 metres of the airport bus stop and across the street from a large shopping mall. There are some good restaurants in the area, including Indian, Chinese and Malasian cuisines. For something quicker, there are numerous fast food chains in and around the train station under the hotel. We had a conference at the university and that was about a 25 min. walk but it was made enjoyable by the sights along the route, including gardens,.

The hotel layout is interesting, as there are open walkways over the train station, leading to the rooms. This section seems to consist of 4 wings, which are covered over by a glass roof and face each other. This means that even if you have an inside room, you are still seeing the outside AND the neighbours across from you!

The rooms themselves are functional and comfortable, although the one we had was a little on the small side and the television definitely needs some updating. Still the free internet was nice and even though the breakfast room was a little chaotic at times, it was always easy to find a table and the selection was plentiful.

Front desk staff were helpful and I think that Hotel G offers good value for money, especially given the prices in Scandinavia.

We stayed 2 nights in a Brand Design Crystal Suite on the top floor.

The hotel is on top of the railway station and next to the bus station, so not a particularly attractive area. It's on the very edge of the city centre, so it's quite a walk to most tourist sights and decent restaurants. It doesn't have its own parking and, for a first-timer in Gothenburg, finding the parking garage recommende by the hotel was quite a challenge in busy traffic.

The Reception and Restaurant are on the 2nd floor of one building and linked by a bridge to another building containing the bedrooms and spa. Just over the bridge is the computer for guest use but it would not connect to the internet! Neither building has much character.

The suite was quiet, very spacious and well equipped, but poorly designed and laid out. The bed was on a platform, as was the bath - both quite dangerous. The controls for the designer bath and for the mirror light in the spacious shower room were so unfathomable that we had to call Reception for instructions (there were none in the room), who commented that they were indeed rather complicated.

The suite's floor to ceiling windows provided an extensive view and made the room very light, but the blackout was poor and, when the sun shone into the room, the airconditioning couldn't cope.

The restaurant was closed for dinner on the Sunday night and we found more interesting places to eat elsewhere. We had breakfast there each morning - it was very crowded and noisy, partly due to a large conference being held at the hotel - the food was OK, but not to the standard of many other Swedish hotels we stayed in.

Poor value for money.

I arrived early but was able to check in at once, which was nice. The staff at the reception was young, helpful and friendly.
I had a deluxe room on the top floor. It was very spacious and you could easily stay three people there. The entire wall towards downtown was made by windows which gave an excellent view and light. Even if it was very sunny the room never became too hot.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good with everything you need.

Even if I was pleased with my stay there are a few details to improve:
* the tv was old, small and hard to navigate – when I pressed the button for tv I got the radio, for example.
* furniture and other wooden items like thresholds had some dents and bumps that reduced the general positive first impression.
* the couch was cool but impossible to sit in if you wanted to watch tv. It wasn’t very comfortable to use while reading either – or maybe I am just getting old …
* the wifi was free, but you had to get a new password every day and I had to log in several times during the day. But when logged in it worked fine.
* breakfast was anything but peaceful. The first morning I had breakfast really early and it was as I expected, but the other days were pure chaos – maybe because it was a Swedish public holiday and many guests with families at the hotel. Still it could have been better organized. I didn’t mind sharing table with others, but I don’t think it is OK that the staff let the guests hang around and wait four to five minutes to get a clean plate or cutlery. Also the food wasn’t refilled quick enough. The food was OK: bacon, sausages, meatballs, scrambled eggs, bread, cheese, ham, vegetables, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, coffee, tea and juice.

The gym was in a small area but reasonably equipped with bike, treadmill, cross trainer etc. While training you get the opportunity to watch the trains come and go.

Despite my small complaints I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again.
