This was our third stay at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Gothenburg. As always, the staff was great- friendly, and service-minded to the highest degree. I'd booked two Business Class rooms, but since I'm a wheelchair user, they put me in a handicap room, just with the added trimmings. The handicap rooms are the same size as a Business Class room, but they doesn't have a proper airconditioning, the ventilation doesn't work, and they are all facing the inner courtyard, i. e. no idea to open a window to get in cooler air.
I woke up at 2 a.m. in a serious sweat and with a thundering headache. After contacting the staff, I got a fan, which helped somewhat, but it didn't do much for my sleep. In fact, the lack of airconditioning ruined my night, and the following day.
When checking out, I mentioned this to the man at the counter who, by the way, was standing right next to the big sign with the "100% satisfaction guaranty- or your money back." After hearing my story, he knocked off SEK 146,- off my bill of 1.800,-.
I thought, " you must be kidding." After a lot of arguing, he knocked off another SEK 400,-. This was nice, but if you are not serious about a 100% satisfaction-guaranty, why put it all over the hotel in the first
place??
And, by the way, the free Wifi is rubbish.
I'm quite sorry to write this, because the Radisson is most of the time a great example on how to run a hotel.

This one is a bit difficult to write since it is very mixed feelings. First of all the service at the front desk was very good. House keeping though wasn't up to scratch (clearly not properly cleaned when we came and towels etc was forgotten to be placed). The breakfast buffet has good food but the logistics can be improved. The location is great downtown with almost everything within walking distance. The gym is access the World Class for 100 Sek (should it really cost Money?).
Last but not least the hotel is built in the 80s judging from the interior and needs a renovation. The staff is clearly doing its outmost to make you feel welcome but they can't cover for the need of a renovation. The floors have been changed but not the rest. For instance the bathroom water taps are very old and at times difficult to use and get the right temperature. So all in all in becomes average though most things are either or

Room Tip: Note that there is an inner covered yard which half of the rooms face. Pretty boring not to see the outside but very good for sleeping quality

Myself & my female partner arrived at the hotel on a warm and sultry evening in late July and were due to stay 3 nights in total. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the room that we stayed in on the first night did not seem to be working effectively as it was swelteringly hot & there is no facility to adjust the temperature in the room - it is centrally controlled ! Initially, the hotel provided an electric fan to assist but unfortunately we got very little sleep on the first night. However, the staff were happy to give us a new room for the next night - indeed, it was an upgrade to a Junior Suite which we found far more comfortable temperature-wise ! We headed-out to the country for a night before returning to the hotel for our final night in Gothenburg & were allocated a Business Room for our final night which was extremely comfortable & well-appointed. The buffet breakfasts in the morning are superb as far as choice & quality is concerned ! We also had a few drinks in the bar on a couple of evenings & the service was very good & friendly. All-in-all a very enjoyable stay at this hotel which is perfectly located for the main attractions of Gothenburg !!

July has certainly been a very warm month here in Sweden and even though most of us are enjoying swimming in warm seas and not having to bring our jackets, it has been a strugle to keep the inhouse temperatures down. I am glad to hear that you contacted the Front Desk and that they were able to offer another room.

The lcoation is the winner for this hotel. We stayed in the business suite which meant again we got a few little extras that make it all the better. The hotel is big and so a little impersonal but it serves its purpose. Has a bar downstairs to entertain and morning breakfasts are decent. Rooms need a little modernising but they are big enough with everything you need. Had to room overlooking the station and the waterway - was beautiful. Would reccommend staying here for anyone visiting the city or surrounds.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the station have thebest view. Avoid the rooms with the windows into the inside of the hotel.

We stayed here while on a short mini break. Excellent facilities, very clean and nice rooms. Amazing range of breakfast choice available. We had booked through a different company and there was a mix up and the hotel staff were amazing at sorting it out. Brilliant service :) would definitely recommend.
