place to have fun with children, with helter-skelters, and domesticated animals which they can pet, plus seals etc. Huge area of grass and forrest in the middle of town.

“Very nice”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

It is close to the city center. There is a small 'zoo' with seals, elks, ducks, penguins, sheep and more which is free to visit. In the summer a lot of Swedes are chilling in the park with some drinks or a barbecue.

“An oasis in Göteborg”

Enjoyed the celebration of the national day. Great with live classical music. They have a well sized playground at the northern end of the park - it is huge. Kids love it and parents as well, with benches, barbecue area and more.

“75% park 25% zoo”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

100% wonderful!

We went and took the little train that goes around the park for 30 SEK each (for a 15 minute ride). It's mostly for kids, but a little indulgence here and there isn't bad. It took us past the ducks and geese, and seals, and past the elk location (but you couldn't see the elk from the train), and the penguins. On the way back we took a different route and went past the large fountain and gardens.

Walking around is also really great, so many wide open spaces to just lounge around and a huge huge playground for kids with a giant whale that they can climb in and rocking dolphins and monkey bars and swings and slides. The swings seemed designed for the much younger crowd but there were wheel ones as well for older kids. The sheer size of the playground makes it seem as though you're liable to lose kids unless you keep a sharp eye on them though!

There's also lots of ice cream and hotdog kiosks, and a man selling balloons and wind wheels near the middle of the park. A lot of kids were blowing bubbles too (but they don't sell those there so if you want to join in the fun, pre-buy your bubbles.)

“A visit to the country”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Whether by planning or good luck, there are many interesting parks around this rather large city. This park includes a small zoo, lots of walking paths, some interesting old wooden buildings, and a lake with ducks. Was surprised just how many people were visiting and walking. Possibly because this is one of the free attractions of the city. Recommended for family with small children. Recommended for people that want to let their dogs run free (illegal/not well looked upon by the straightlaced citizens). Often on the weekends are automobile boot sales. This attraction is more for local people than tourists. The museums, walking streets, and views along the river appealed much more to this American.
