I stayed here for three nights from a Thursday checking out Sunday so I'm thinking this was a good enough period to give a fair review. All facilities I needed were available and regarding the usual concerns such as bedding and bathroom area everything was perfectly clean and good quality. Personally I enjoyed the homely feel with the antique furniture, paintings, ornaments etc. The staff were always very pleasant and useful when I needed their help with information about the city. I don't think there is a main dining restaurant here but for breakfast I think this was excellent for choice and ample space in which to find a table. There is a handy little area near the reception in which guests are welcome to free tea and coffee, waffles and similar all day during their stay. The general layout of the ground floor beyond reception is very suitable for inviting business guests or friends to relax. The location for me was perfect with very easy access to large shopping mall, the waterfront and back in the opposite direction for other town areas including the older Haga area although for many that will be quite a trek. Trams, trains, buses taxis are all on the go very close-by. Sleep was good and I don't recall any real problems although the cleaners were my only annoyance. Very noisy outside the bedroom door very early with all their equipment for the neighbouring room which had become available and consequently that was noisy with the cleaning (through the walls). That could do with looking into from a management point of view to improve upon for the benefit of remaining guests who in my situation endured the problem for three consecutive mornings.

A perfect place to stay in Gothenburg, very central, classy, traditional, moderate pricing and everyone of the staff we communicated with was friendly and professional. Thank you so much Gothenburg! Veldig bra oppholdssted i Göteborg, sentralt, flott, tradisjonell, god pris og alle ansatte som vi var i kontakt med var vennlig og professjonell. Tack så mycket Göteborg!

This hotel which is the oldest in town preserved the elegance and touch of other times. The rooms are very pleasant and large with hand made carpets and beautiful drawings. The loby is very pleasant and delicious cake, coffee and various tasty teas are given complimentary every afternoon and evening.
The hotel is very central and walking distance to all town's touristical attractions but quiet.
The reception staff is very helpful and nice.

Perfect location. Friendly personal. Good breakfast.
The hotel is an ideal location for a city trip to Gothenburg. It is located near the city and the ways into the city are short. a public car space is near to the hotel (tickets are sold by the hotel).
The staff is very friendly. The interior is nice and cosy.

Absolutely delightful. We booked this as a one night stop over after a holiday in Sweden and flying back to Edinburgh the next morning. It was real surprise. A beautiful hotel (Independent) We like that!! Very friendly staff, excellent service, lovely room, wonderful breakfast. We travel to Sweden regularly and if we plan a weekend city break as part of our next trip it will be to Goteborg and in The Hotel Royal!!
