I never stay in hotels when travelling but the Scandic Rubinen has a lot going for it; great location, nice facilities, decent rooms, and an amazing complimentary breakfast. Staff were nice and accommodating. Good for the price.

Stayed at the Rubinen a couple of times on business trips. It is located right on the Avenyn, which is known for shopping, restaurants and night life. The rooms are very small. If you have more than 1 luggage, you'll be in trouble. A parking garage is available one block away.

Very central, parking is close and you can get a 24 hr ticket, bar at lobby is cosy but quickly full. In winter roof top is locked unfortunately, so need to come in spring again. If family is with you book in the new section behind the main road facing block!

Stayed here for three nights in the run up to Christmas with our teenage daughters. Was great to be able to share the room with them at 14 and 17 many hotels seem to think they need their own room and would book again on that fact alone! The kids beds were a novel fold out bunks which were plenty big enough and disappeared completely when not in use much better than a sofa bed. The room was quirky and very Scandinavian- basic but stylish. Bathroom had a roomy wetroom/shower an was spotless. Staff on the front desk were fantastic and all staff we met were really friendly but cleaning seemed to happen very late in the day often not until 3pm or later and on one occasion the kids beds werent made which was a bit disappoitning. Brakfast was fantastic - lots of fresh fruitt and veg and a great selection of bread and baked goods as well as cooked food, cheese and meats. It seemed that allergies were well catered for with a separate vegan/allergy area and a 'gluten-free' only toaster.
The location is perfect very central and very easy to navigate from . We had no worries allowing the kids to wander out in the city on their own and Lieseberg was just a ten min walk away
