Fars Hatt is situated about 1 km from the commercial center of Kungälv, pretty location and nice exterior, next to the river and below the old castle. So far, so good. However, going inside you soon discover that the place is in urgent need of renovation. Our room door was very hard to open (someone had tried with a crowbar, judging from the burglar type marks around the lock). The room is small and the bathroom the tiniest I have ever seen; sit on the toilet and you can rest your chin on the washbasin, shower curtain clings to your back when you are washing, get the picture? Musty smell and a distinct 70's look to it.
Breakfast room large and nice view, but bread soggy (both the rolls and the crisp rye bread). Dead insects collecting on the window sills next to our table.
On the positive side, staff were friendly and helpful, otherwise I would have rated it "terrible".
At 1200 sek per night it is a ripoff. It is the only hotel in Kungälv so if you need to stay the night there then do, but otherwise keep going.More
