I stayed here for one night in May, with my 13-year old daughter. This is a historical hotel where the rooms have been tastefully redecorated and modernized in white, brown and turquoise colors while the lobby and corridors still has a more rustic, classic feel about it.

Finding the hotel room was like getting a little lost in a maze - but we just found that charming as it is quite an old building. Like I said, the rooms were modern and clean - apart from some black hair left in the shower. Yuck!

We ended up not getting that much sleep, due to the fact that our room faced the nightclub opposite the back of the hotel, ie just outside our window! No soundproofing there! Also, the beds were so soft - not worn out or anything, just way too soft as we both kinda sunk down a little when we laid down. Good thing I don't have a bad back!

Breakfast weas served until noon, which was nice as it gave us a chance to really have a lay-in and have a lazy morning. Great hot and cold breakfast!

I'd also like to say that the staff were really nice and efficient at check-in and check-out. Overall, I'd be quite happy to stay again if I ever have the chance of getting a good deal.

This hotel is a very short walk from the train station and is in the centre of town alongside the river. The hotel has retained much of it's turn of the 19th century charm and the provides excellent service and large clean and airy rooms.

The restaurant is an English style pub called the Bishops Arms and a sign above it proclaims it is "Inn keeping with tradition". Meals can be taken outside overlooking the river and there is a wonderful choice of excellent beers.

The breakfast room provides for all tastes and the food is excellent.

The hotel is located in the city center, in an historical building laying on the river banks, and the all style of the hotel is mixing tradition with modern. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful, the room was very large, comfortable and well equipped, with a nice view on the river. The breakfast buffet was very rich: a definitively wide selection of good quality. To remark that the central location of the hotel is very convenient for nice walks, or an outside dinner, even if the hotel pub, The Bishop, is very popular, with good selection of beers and food.

You can easily walk from the main train station to this hotel. As you walk out of ticket hall, head straight across the road and keep walking. When you get to the river you will see a British theme pub on your right called The Bishops Arms. This pub is actually part of the hotel.

The reception is clean, but homely. This isn't a modern hotel, although it has all the modern facilities. Check-in was quick, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lifts to the rooms seem old fashioned but they do the job.

The room itself was as good as I could have hoped for. The view wasn't great for me, as all I got was a window opening on to the internal courtyard. Very limited selection of TV channels. Room service choice also seems very limited, although it features some exotic fare like Fillet of Reindeer if you are the adventurous sort. There is an ironing room on the 2nd floor, but as my room had it's own iron I'm not sure why that's there.

Breakfast was a plentiful buffet, but very much meat-centric so if you're vegetarian you will struggle. Quality of the food was excellent, however.

There is free wifi throughout the hotel and it is reasonably fast. Overall - this is a highly recommended hotel. However, it can be expensive especially if there is a big event taking place in town.

We stayed New Years Eve and were received by friendly staff. Check-in was rapid as was the check-out the next morning. The room was budget price and also budget size. Rather narrow bed for two but we had been warned when booking so no hard feelings there. The small room was quiet and clean, recently refurbished.

Very rich breakfast buffet included in the room price the next morning. Everything you could ask for and then some. Do-it-yourself Belgian waffles as well.

The hotel is right in the center of the city with nice walks along the riverbanks or shopping if you prefer.

Room Tip: Make sure that you specify if you want a large room, a bathtub etc. since rooms are different. There are plenty of function rooms for conferences, exhibitions and celebrations.
