Nice hotel in central location. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good, as would expected. Some of the rooms are dated, but most have been remodeled, however, even the dated room I have stayed was pleasant.
The small gymnasim, however, is a waste of space. If you need a workout they can sell you a pass for a local gym. Running around Karlstad is good in every direction.

The Bishops Arm Pub is a welcome on-site addition with a great atmosphere and a wide selection of draughts from around the world.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a river view. If you are a Beatles fan, ask for the Beatles room, which also has a nice view of the river.

We have stayed at the Elite Plaza hotel in Gothenburg several times earlier, so we didn´t expect anything less going this Elite hotel. Our expectations were met: the location was perfect; close to shops and restaurants, but still in a quiet "corner" of the city. The rooms were also nice; we booked a family room, and that was really spacious and nice.
The hotel had focus on kids this summer; they had their own "check-in" desk where they could make a drawing when they arrived, they also received some colors and a book. The little playroom at the hotel was also perfect for out two-year-old.
The breakfast was a nice surprise: a huge selections, and more importantly; the bacon was done just right! ;)
Overall: a nice hotel to a decent price. We´ll be back!

My and my wife was here for two day's. Locatinon and hotel was just fine. The breakfast was super and the rooms where nice and clearn. When you leave the hotel you are right in the town center, and it's easy to find food and bar's. Ther are free wifi and we did not pay for parking.

Clean room, a bit outdated but clean. Bed was comfy, breakfast was fabulous (great variety of choice.) Rooms are not super big but ok. Service wad good.
I can't rate the location because I stayed for one night and left the next morning.

Positive:
- Nice building, grand halls and nicely decorated coridors.
- Nice rooms, modern design.
- Good breakfast

Negative:
- Staff was not very knowledgeable; wasn't able to recommend a good restaurant, just sent us in a general direction where most restaurants were closed.
- Rooms should have been cleaner. There was dust in the windowsills, the radiator needed cleaning, and the headboard on the bed was very dusty.

The hotel is in a very nice old building, and could be great. However, the lack of knowledge from the staff combined with sloppy housekeeping makes it just an average hotel, no different from the others, and nothing special to talk about.

Room Tip: Try to get a view of the river. Check price for an upgrade, was quite cheap.
