It is NOT really worth it, there's a small cute church, few funerary mounts (don't expect to see anything more than that). There is a small museum there, really disappointing, there's pretty much nothing original viking inside there that's worth the while. You have to take a really expensive bust to get from Uppsala to Gamla Upppsala, I would't really advise to go there and wate time and money

Nice environment, be sure to visit the nice little church. The inventor of the celsius temperature scale is burried there in a family grave. Also there is a oak casket that contained the church valuables and had 7 locks, and each lock could only be opened by a different person.

Old Uppsala was five kilometres from today´s centrum. This is where the water came between the 6th century and the early Middle ages. If you know Naantali Closter Church in Finland you see that St. Birgitta has brought her ideas from Uppsala Old Church to Nådendal.. A place of major political and religious history in Sweden.

We walked around the mounds and read the signs. A beautiful afternoon in the sun was had. It's a slow day, but interesting.
