Our daughter has been studying in Uppsala and my husband and I stayed in this hotel for the second time recently. It's in a great location, close to the station and within easy reach of several good restaurants. The rooms are spacious and modern and have everything in them that you could need for an enjoyable stay. Staff were all really friendly and efficient, breakfast was very good and I'd definitely recommend if visiting Uppsala.

Very modern and practical architecture. Personnel is very kind and ready to postively react to any request. I had a business room which was large enough and full of light but with some little nuisances: no draws, a ridiculously small cupboard (just four hangers and a curtain instead of a door to close it), no window in the bathroom. Most of all, it was impossible to open any window and it felt a little claustrophobic especially due to the fact that at night the air conditioning went nearly off. Although there is a device in the room to increase (or decrease) the air conditioning I think that at night the administration nearly shuts it off for it just doesn't cool the room as much as it does during the day. I've had similar problems in other Swedish hotels though. probably they are very well organized for winter temperatures and less for hot summer months. The pillows were large and very thick. But too thick for me and they had just one size. A bit limited! I also found the quilt too short for two so at roughly one o'clock at night I called reception and they immediately brought another one just for me. The girl who provided the service was, quick, kind and efficient. As the service in general at the hotel. The hotel is just besides the railways station and has a couple of bars and food shops around it (one of which conveniently closed later then other shops in town). Uppsala is quite small so you can walk around basically anywhere but since it rains very often, mind the fact that the hotel is not in the heart of town, is at about 1 km from the Cathedral (worth a visit!), the University and the main attractions. It took a 15-25 minutes walk to reach any of the above. Certainly not much but that's as far as it can get in Uppsala and when it rained I had to take a taxi.

We recently stayed in this beautiful, new hotel. When we got there we were placed in a business class room even though we had requested a typical style room. They split the price difference with us. The room was gorgeous in a very modern sleek way. We had 3 large windows overlooking the city of Uppsala. The train station was directly across the street from us but caused no noise problems during our stay...only the convenience of train travel. The bed was very comfortable and it had a lovely sitting area for our use. The bathroom was large and modern. Breakfast was delicious and ample. There were many fresh, delicious choices which were often being freshened and replenished. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Booked there as no rooms available at a decent price down town Stockholm and it was a very good surprise. The hotel is very new, clean, comfortable with all business amenities. Twenty minutes by taxi from Arlanda Airport with no traffic jams and in front of the Uppsala train station which brings you directly to Stockholm in 40 mn.
Did not have time to visit Uppsala which is said to be a very lively University town.
Definitely a great alternative to the very expensive Stockholm or Arlanda hotels.

I only stayed here due to a booking error by a colleague who thought it was much closer to Stockholm and then when he realized his error it was too late. I would say it is about 50 kilometres from central Stockholm and 1 hour on the train. Anyway it is right outside Uppsalaa station and a typical modern Scandinavian style. Rooms with open plan bathroom and showers but mine was clean and everything still looks like new. Nice terrace to have a drink and food when the sun is shining. Food is good quality and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

I stayed here for 3 nights on business. It's right next to the train station, which also puts it right next to the bus station, so it's convenient for getting into Uppsala, as well as around it. Being so close to the infrastructure didn't cause any noise problems though. All the rooms are very well glazed (besides the fact that Swedish publish transport isn't too loud).

The rooms were very nicely proportioned, with more pillows that you could shake a stick at. The breakfast was a cut above average, in particular all the fresh loaves of bread provided. Also, the scrambled eggs were very nicely prepared, not the runny mess you often see.

On the top floor is a sauna and relaxation area. The sauna appeared to be a dry one (no water was provided) which I found made it a little less enjoyable than most saunas. There weren't blinds/curtains over the windows in parts of (ladies) the changing room, which felt a bit exposed at night. The relaxation area had nice comfy seats to sit in and read, and there was a balcony with beautiful views towards the south of the city (cathedral, castle, etc). It was a nice place to go relax, with a gentle breeze.

The staff were friendly, and the whole place felt shiny and new (I hear that it was only built relatively recently). The internet connection was fantastic. Internet speeds: download 44 Mb/s, upload 37 Mb/s.

I recently stayed for 2.5 weeks at the Radisson Blu for a training course and I found it to be a pleasant and enjoyable hotel. I was given a room on the 6th floor with views to the Uppsala Castle and Cathedral which was lovely.

The train station was just right next door and of great convenience to those travelling. The location is also central and very convenient to visit the city area. The room was of modern and stylish design. The bed was comfortable although I might have preferred firmer bedding.

The staff were all very helpful in questions asked. Although it was a pity that they did not have a concierge which could have helped more with travel on the free weekend. But they were certainly very helpful in assisting our planning of things to do for that weekend.

One thing about the restaurant was that there were not too many options for dinner and it was quite expensive. But then all restaurants are expensive in Uppsala compared to other cities in Europe I thought, especially the alcohol! The breakfast provided was of very good variety and they did cook eggs on order if you prefer anything other than soft/hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs. However, after staying for 2.5 weeks, I must admit I wish the change of variety also existed. But I guess for most people the stay may not be as long and the breakfast buffet would just be perfect. However, both myself and others I talked to were amazed at the service charge of 150Swedish Kronas to be added on top of food when you ask for room service. This was more than a meal almost. I could not think of any reasonable explanation for this charge.

All in all, my stay was a very pleasant one with compliments to the staff.

Room Tip: Ask for one with views to the castle and cathedral
