“Wasn't anything more then I expected”
Reviewed August 29, 2010

The Pro's: This hotel isn't in a bad location. Just a few blocks from the center of town where there are some really pretty river views, and the train station.

Cons: Based on the other reviews I'd read I wasn't expecting much, and I'm sorry to say that expectation was met. We arrived on a very stormy afternoon. I jumped out at the front to ask if the hotel had any parking and was told that they did, but it was a very steep underground lot and my car might not fit. We had a Ford Focus. :) The front desk told me that parking across the street was 8a - 8p and was metered. When my card didn't work at the meter I asked for change for two 20 SDK bills and was told they didn't have it!! After scrapping together change I managed to get us two hours of parking.

Once in the room, which met all expectations (if you know what I mean) we found that none of the ice machines on any of the floors were working. I was given a tiny plastic tray with some ice from the kitchen when I asked at the front.

Bottom line: There's not much in the way of "nice" hotels around, but you might reconsider this one.

Carefully lit, well presented and decorated rooms and corridors , excellent breakfasts, free parking and a selection of free dvd's, helpful and friendly staff, make this an excellent and good value hotel to stay in.

We stayed here one night in a junior suite. It was specious and had everything you need. The bathroom was small, but after staying in Swedish hotels for 3 weeks, we now know that all the hotel bathrooms in Sweden are small (also in the Hilton in Stockholm, where we had a junior suite also). We could have given this hotel a higher rating when the airco had worked sufficiently. The day we were here it was 28 degrees Celsius and because the airco wasn't 'strong' enough, we had to open the windows but it was still to warm. Our suite was opposite a night club but because it wasn't in the weekend it was closed. But otherwise, who knows? So, check it out when you book and don't stay here when it's hot unless you can stand the heat...Further I agree with the Finnish reviewer about the gym, the outside of the hotel etc. It didn't bother me also. The bed was the best I slept in during 3 weeks.

First it´s not a Choice Hotel.
After reading reviews and looking at diferent homepages this hotel was a big disapointment!
The room did not look at all as the pictures on the hotels site and on booking sites!
Hardly any storage space, no drawers at all in the room. Bathroom very small and whith a stinch of suage. The double beds comfy but narrow and keeps sliding apart, very bad for a couple! :-) The room seemed clean untill we looked under the bed and behind the curtains :-(
Design hotel, but at the cost of function. Sad to see!
The hotels homepage promises free parking but thats not true, (parking ticket, Sek 450:- instead :-(. Also they say You can relax in the "relaxroom", there is no "relaxroom"!
Nice TV and plus for DVD player if You like to bring som discs or play the CD available in the room.
The breakfast is an average swedish hotelbreakfast no more, no less.
Surprised to see it ranked as 4 star hotel. Realy a fraud.
Location is good but not among the best in Norrkoping.

We visited Kolmården zoo in July 2008 with our family (2 adults, 2kids aged 3 and 6). This hotel website offered a familily package including zoo tickets which seemed to suit our purposes very well and gave us a slight benefit in the price. Big advantage was also the fact that you do not need to queue for the zoo tickets as you receive them from Hotel. We just drove to Safaripark from hotel (30 minutes drive).

Hotel is located in a quiet street within a walking distance from the Norrköping city centre, close to old industrial area which seems nowadays hosting various cultural and educational facilities. Consider having a walk along the river!

Hotel is exactly what i need from a hotel: clean and spacious rooms with refridgerator (=Minibar that you can empty), iron, TV and clean bathroom with shower. This hotel did not have a gym, but there was set of dumbbells and training dvd you could play on the entertainment system which was connected to TV set ;) As a Finn, i also valued the complimentary Sauna in the basement (just remember to ask front-desk to set it on).

There was free wi-fi and two desktop computers for free Internet browsing in the lobby. Staff was friendly and all of them spoke perfect english.

Attached to Hotel was a bar which served also some snacks, but you will probably find better bar-scene if you walk to city center. I think closest grocery store was in Kungsgatan - good and cheap way to fill the minibar. Complimentary breakfast was typical Scandinavian: eat all you can type buffet.

There is plenty of parking spaces in the nearby streets, parking is free during nighttime and reasonably priced during daytime. I remember hotel also had a garage but we did not use it.

pros:
-Big rooms to fit a family in one room
-Recently renovated, clean
-No need to queue for Kolmården tickets

somebody might say these are cons, I do not:
- no fancy restaurant
- no gym
- From outside it is hard to recognise that it is a hotel

Despite of these cons, i will give 5/5 points

I stayed for 1 night on a business trip. The hotel is centrally located and has been recently renovated. I had a single room, quite small but full of amenities, including a cd player free of charge. The design of this hotel is very nice (for those who like modern design of course). Very important for business travellers: wi-fi internet connection is included in the price and worked very well from my hotel room. Breakfast is ok, more Swedish than Internatlonal. Hotel staff was friendly and very polite.

Reasonable Hotel, very IKEAish but then it would be I guess. They serve a buffet in the evening that is free, fresh and a whole lot cheaper than eating out in the town. The hotel has a good location in town, parking is a bit of a pain in the winter as it is generally outside (seems to be about -10°C now). They have underground parking that is heated but it was designed when cars had no crumple zones so its very, very cramped. All rooms have free Wifi. Generaly good beds and even though its a year since I last stayed here no one as nicked the Sven Goran Eriksson CDs that are for free use in the room. Good correlation between price and service.
