Owner description: For almost 800 years people have been coming to worship and pray at Linköping Cathedral. Work on the Cathedral was started in 1230, with the main building works being completed in 1520. The belfry and the west façade were added in 1885. Linköping Cathedral is the most impressive and expensive Swedish church building of the Middle Ages. Within the church you can see evidence of almost 800 years in which master craftsmen have expressed their faith in wood and stone

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Loved the architecture and history. Disliked the fact that on duty info. Clerk was not that attentive in welcoming visitors or even saying goodbye or thanking folks for coming! It was not until we left that we discovered an info sheet regarding the recommended sequence of touring the cathedral. Tourists, pray for her hospitality skills!

“Go there!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

It has been renovated over the years but still you get the history. Fantastic paintings, so take your time and look around. You can ask the staff and they point out the important things.

“Beautiful artwork”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

The Linkoping cathedral is surprisingly artistic, and unusual for a church. The "tree of life" is a modern metallic sculpture with several colourful glass ornaments hanging from it. Worth a visit.
