“Quaint old town”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

This old town is about a couple of miles from center city. It is very nice and well kept. You can easily tour it in one hour. I understand that in the summertime they have open air cafés and restaurant, which are closed during the rest of the year.

“Fun for the kids”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

The kids have a great time petting the animals or playing in the park. Some stores that are open in summer.
Visiting the animals is great in the winter as you can go right inside the cages and pet them. In the summer they're locked up in the outdoor cages.

Not much to do for adults though.

“Ok in winter too”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Easy to get to, the bus stops right outside. Have been to a family winter Sunday, with lots of free activities for kids and a great atmosphere. It's still ok to go to in winter, being an open air museum, but there are also lots more activities open in summer. The café at Gamla is very nice too.
Will have to go back in the warmer weather and take another look.

“A must see”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

I grew up in LInköping and spent alot of time here as a child. If you are planning a visit to Linköping you have to take a walk or the local bus and have a look in this old preserved part of Linköping. If you have a look at Linköpings calender you can see if they have markets, dances or activities on. The winter markets are beautiful and you also have to have a look in the small handcraft shops and museums. You can also walk from Gamla Linköping to Valla, or i believe the tuff tuff train still runs in between during the summers. Its a short walk through the forest with well marked trails. Valla has alot of animals that the children can feed, sometimes ponyrides as well as a big playground and during the vinter its great to play in the snow. If you are a family with kids you could easily spend a whole day here. If you are a couple a few hours to half a day should be enough unless there are any activities going on.

“Lovely Afternoon Stroll and Shopping”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Nice presentation of early town with some lovely shops. The children's' toy shop is wonderful and has a great selection of books, too. Beautiful walks all throughout and leading to park and horse camp behind Gamla Linkoping.
