My husband and I came to Kamalaya after hearing great things about it from other friends. We booked though Wellbeing Escapes. The packages are excellent value and very inclusive. The resort is it's own private paradise, very caring, committed to health and happiness. The property is set along a terraced hillside overlooking a perfect half-moon of sandy beach. Palm trees fringe the horizon, waterways add a cooling presence, lush tropical flora abounds and there's even a few lotus ponds to add a truly exotic touch.
My husband is quite fit, but after a festive and fattening time over the holidays I was in need of a re-set. i was eating, drinking and weighing too much--and excercising too little.
I went on the Basic Health package and added a few indulgent massages and in just one week I felt like a new person. 3 kilos lost, energy and inspiration gained! The delicious cuisine is super healthy and energising, with mouthwatering local seafood as well as excellent vegetarian detox menus. The other guests are mostly from Europe, the UK or USA and people were friendly--most are repeat guests and all were full of praise for the resort, its utterly charming staff, and the care the founders, John and Karina Stewart have put into making this one of the top wellness spas in the region. Truly impressive on every level. There are literally dozens of treatments, everything from Indian Ayurveda to the latest in sports pysio, and a state of the art fitness center with panoramic views across the sapphire blue sea. I was expecting a nice, healthy break, but received so much more. Will deffo be coming back. Kamalaya is a game changer.
