Shasa is a classy relatively small boutique resort set in a picture perfect stunning location on the Gulf of Thailand. Away from the maddening crowd and only a 15 minute car journey to the usual shops, bars and restaurants, it is a perfect spot to just disappear into. It is located right on a secluded beach and cut into a rainforested hill so that all you can see is the blue blue sea from up high everywhere. The two magnificent infinity pools, one right at the sea, the other located 2mins higher up the property are magnificent. The spa pool with an assortment of various water massage options is terrific. Our two kids, 6 and 10 were able to entertain themselves in each of the pools, particularly the one closest to the sea. This property has been elegantly landscaped, and the interior of our two bedroom suite with kitchen, laundry, 2 beautiful bathrooms and enormous outside verandah overlooked the sea from every angle and was elegantly decorated and equipped with every thing you might need. Every practical thing has been thought of in this place, to make your stay easy, comfortable, luxurious and relaxing. The staff are so courteous, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. The spa and gym perfect for your stay. You can walk on the beach, paddle, snorkel and swing on a nice chair under the banyon tree on the shore. I would definately come again. Easy, such a beautiful location and quiet.

Room Tip: The two bedroomed suite was spacious for a family of 4. The large outside verandah was a winner.

We are experienced travellers. Everything from backpacking in Africa to resort properties around the world. We booked a holiday to Koh Samui on the spur of the moment and wound up at the Shasa on the recommendation of the travel agent. On the website it looked good but not having heard of it before we were somewhat anxious about what we would find.

What we found was: friendly staff who were good at their jobs; excellent and huge apartments with all the mod cons from coffee grinder to washing machine and dryer with a huge verandah overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. In the two bedroom apt there are two ensuites. The furnishings and details of design are tasteful and functionally elegant. The restaurant (only one) is excellent. Though more pricey than in town we did not have a bad meal or bad dish the entire 8 days we were here. In fact, the food was out of this world (Thai menu anyway) with the stirfried tofu and cashew nuts being a repeated favorite. Free wifi all around the hotel in your room and by the pool available on multiple devices. Three pools.

Shasa is about 5 kms out of the main Lamai strip which means you have to take a taxi or shuttle into 'town' if you want to shop or eat out, which costs about Baht 400 each way. We had two kids and so went into town a few times and loved being out of the hustle and sleazy bars of the Strip.

All I can say is this is a wonderful place to stay. Cannot think of anything negative to say. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights in 2 big apartments. We were 6 people (2 adults and 4 children).
The Shasa resort is the right place for relaxation and keep you away from the other busy and noisy places in the Island.
With the 3 pools, professional staff and wonderfull restaurant, this is the right place to be in Ko Samui

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartment is big enough for 5 people

Longing for a lavish blue greenish sea water view from your bedroom right after you wake up in the morning ? Then Shasa Resort and residence in Koh Samui island is the right place for you to unwind from your daily hectic activities. Located more to the southern part of the island, it gives the resort a serenity sense of living, away from the busy city attractions.

This resort hotel is not too new, but I will say it is quite well maintained. Our room was a suite room with a 2 bedrooms. It includes kitchen with all its appliances and utensils, and surprisingly it comes with an automatic washer and dryer as well, even though they will have to charge you a bit when you decide to use the machines. A coffee beans, a bean grinder and a French Press coffee maker are also readily available.

The breakfast served in this hotel is of a superb quality. Each one of them is delicious whether you cater for Eastern food or Western food, they are all of excellent taste and quality. They keep on changing the Thai food everyday, so guests can have different taste of the local food.

The suite room is very roomy and comes with a long dining table for eight persons. At the balcony , they provide a relaxing sofa and 2 comfy seats overlooking the blue green ocean.

A flat screen tv is available in the family room as well as in the master bedroom along with the DVD players. DVD films can be borrowed FOC at the library corner on the Ground floor.
A SPA massage is also available for an extra dollar spent. Don't worry, prices in this island is not going to kill you. Everything is more than reasonably price. The only expensive thing is Taxi rate. I will suggest you rent a car or a motorbike instead of riding a taxi back and forth to the city centre which might cost you easily USD 15-USD 25 one way. Car rental is around USD 30 per day.

If you like a city kind of living, then this is a wrong place for sure, since the city centre is about half an hour drive far.

Room Tip: If you can afford a bigger suite room, it will be much nicer especially those that are in the corner, so you can get a better view of the ocean from almost every sides of the rooms. Level 3 and above are the deluxe suite rooms. The higher you go, the better the view.
