“The most beautiful place to stay for relaxation and friendly welcome”
Reviewed June 9, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights, my room was upstairs in the owners house and was a large beautifully decorated room. Spotlessly clean, and with lots of little touches that added to the luxurious atmosphere. The bed was soooo comfy, and the little kitchen has everything you should need, comfy sofa, and chairs and the cutest little window seat, they even have a little basket of snacks to welcome you.
Suzie &Jerry were the perfect hosts, I was truly spoilt by them, I was travelling alone so they invited me to join them for my meals which was lovely, and very much appreciated. Suzie took me to a local garden were we spent a lovely day, stopping off at a little town for lunch.
The surroundings are breathtaking, I went kayaking, and paddle boating on the lake, and the tranquility was exactly what I was looking for. Evenings were spent sitting around the fire pit watching the birds, and to finish the evening off a dip in the hot tub !
The mill is very easy to find, and very close to Prince Edward County, plus lots of little towns around to wander around.
So thank you Suzie &Jerry you made my Canadian dream come true.

Thank you Karen for giving other prospective guests a feel for our island getaway. We feel privileged to host international travelers and to be chosen as a Canadian destination. We thoroughly enjoyed all your travel tales and it was a pleasure spending time with you. Glad we were able to help you experience a little bit of our piece of Canada. You looked right at home out there in the river on the kayak. Sorry we weren't able to provide you with a Mountie but hope you find one for a photo along the way. Maybe our paths will cross again when we visit the U.K. Happy travels!

“A perfect home away from home. Very unique and inviting”
Reviewed May 3, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We stayed at the fabulous Mill for three wonderful relaxing nights to celebrate our Anniversary. It is a perfect home away from home. There is much to do or nothing to do.. whatever you need. The Country Suite is bright, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Suzie and Jerry thought of everything that you may need, want to have or just look at. We BBQ’d, sat in the lovely backyard which gave us views of the running falls, the calm river, the swaying trees, the beautiful nature, the extraordinary Mill. Such beauty. All I can say is this place is perfect for a quiet getaway. Picton and Belleville are each about 25 minutes away if you need / want to get into town but really, park your car and enjoy what this lovely Mill has to offer. PS... say hello to Sassy and Kitty :)

We are so glad you enjoyed your long weekend with us and that you were able to even get out in the canoe as our first couple this Spring. Meeting you both was a pleasure and having you offer to take care of our little cat while we were gone was indeed a bonus. Thank you again for sharing your positive experience with others and for your appreciation of our Island Mill Getaway.

“Quiet Escape”
Reviewed November 1, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The Island Mill Getaway was a great escape for my husband and I. The river was not running because of the dryness of the season and Suzie was very accommodating if we wanted to cancel, which we didn't. The surroundings are beautiful, the fall colours were amazing and the quiet was very relaxing. Suzie and Jerry are a very friendly couple. There was plenty of brochures, in the room, with of ideas of what to do in the area.

We're so happy you enjoyed your anniversary with us and were the first this season to enjoy our Fall Getaway Special with two free nights. It was a shame the river level was lower than normal during your stay. The river is raging again so come join us next year. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with others.

A big thank you to our wonderful American visitors who drove a long way to experience our getaway. We're so happy you enjoyed the time you spent here in our Country Suite. I know it's a long way to come but we'd love for you to try our other suite, The Miller's Retreat if you're thinking of another Canadian getaway. Hope to see you both again.

“Peaceful and welcoming”
Reviewed July 17, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Decided to stay in Prince Edward County after a few days in Toronto so we could just chill. The preoperty is beautiful and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The countryside around the mill is very rural and it is necessary to travel to find a decent meal, having said that within half and hour there are a number of small towns worth exploring.

Kingston is probably the best equipped town within a sensible drive and has a number of decent eateries as well as the normal selection of shops.

Probably not worth making a major detour but if you want a bit of peace a couple of hours from Toronto to get over a flight, you could do a lot worse.

We're glad you enjoyed your time at our property and that we were able to provide you with some much needed chill time after your flight and stay in Toronto. Yes!, we are rural and that is the draw. Being in an old stone mill on an island only 6 minutes from the 401 highway, the major route that connects Montreal to Toronto is truly an unique find for those wishing to relax, recharge and connect with nature. We provide cooking facilities right in your suite so that eating out is not a necessity. The bonus is that we are so close to so many towns in all directions for sightseeing, shopping and eating out. I don't believe anyone would make a major detour to reach our unique Island Mill property but rather would and do make it their primary destination for a one-of-a-kind vacation experience.
