“Very good - The kötbullar look exactly like in the picture”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

A small bar-type at the back of the opera house with open kitchen. Nice and friendly service and good and tasty swedish food. We had herring for starters and kötbullar as main course. Both very tasty.
Price seems to be at the high(er) side but overly expensive. Definitely worth visiting.

Seating is either at the bar or at quite small table with bar stools hence not really suitable for families.

“Rustic swedish food”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

This is the cheaper arm of the opera restaurants, it is a small bar based restaurant that is not conducive to groups larger than two unless sitting at the bar. The service is a bit brisk, not that warm, but threw our food on the right table. The food looked like it had been served in a home kitchen, but tasted very nice. Rustic food and service

“Tiny cafe, but expensive. Long waiting time.”
Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

We were there around 1.45pm and had to wait 30mins for seats. The setting is very small, and the waitresses take their own sweet time to seat you even though there are empty tables. They claim that they can't cope. Meatballs at SEK 170; very minced meat; not my likings. Seared cod with prawns SEK 275; overcooked; texture is tough. Drinks are much more more expensive in this restaurant than other places. Beer or wine will cost at least SEK 65. Tap water is served free! Nice.

“Tasty food in cozy setting”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

My second time in Bakfickan, a Tuesday evening in September. The place was not packed as it was in July so it was easier to get a table just walking in. I enjoy the no-nonsense Scandinavian menu of this restaurant, as well as the nice selection of Swedish microbrewery (?) specialty beers. Service was very friendly again. Highly recommended.
