Description: On Primusgatan 116 at Little Essingen in Stockholm, Lux Day by Day is a raw bistro with a new menu every day. Henrik Norstrom and his team create a daily menu of the finest local produce with Swedish dishes served simply and immaculately. With a bright, open room and a generous price point, the aim is to enable more people to experience the craftsmanship behind Michelin-starred Lux Stockholm. At Lux Day by Day, seasonal produce is key. Plums are served when they are at their most succulent, venison is offered when hunting luck was good and fennel is on them menu when newly harvested. Lux Day by Day, deliberates over the best ingredients on a daily basis, creating Swedish tastes with the spectrum of elements that are salty, sweet and sour, smoked and kryddsättningar.

It's important to know that this restaurant is no longer the Michelin-starred Lux. The menu is definitely less ambitious, everything is more simple, but the prices also reflect this simplicity. The food is generally good, based on produce of good quality. Service is attentive and even children are made to feel welcome.

I was a little wary of trying this restaurant due to the range of reviews I read. We decided to go since it was our first night in Stockholm and we already had a reservation. We were jet lagged and didn't feel like scouting out another restaurant. I am so glad we went. This restaurant was firing on all cylinders. Our hotel confirmed the reservation for us and made sure it was accessible for a wheelchair. We were told they were accessible and looking forward to hosting us. Nice!

We took a cab which cost us about $17 but we enjoyed the drive through the outlying residential area of Stockholm. At the restaurant, there was a curb cut and no steps to get into the building which is in a converted Electrolux warehouse overlooking the water. The bar area had all high tables so that would not work for someone in a wheelchair which is an issue since some reviewers had to wait for their tables at the bar. We were led to our table along a narrow passageway that separated the dining room from the service area. It was wide enough for my wheelchair (which is about 27"). The hostess took away a chair so I could roll up to the table and the service from that point on was gracious and efficient.

The food also lived up to the rave reviews I read. We tried to sample a broad selection and weren't disappointed by anything we chose: Perch, Lamb, Vegetables, dessert. The wonderful bread was served with pickled tomatoes and olive spread. The restaurant (we went on a Thursday night) seemed to be filled with locals, many with their children and that added to charm. There is outdoor seating but it was too cool on the night we went.

When we were finishing up, they called us a cab. We had time to walk along the waterfront before leaving.

All in all, a wonderful evening.

Came early @ opening time--a little hectic. Wait staff a bit disorganized. Roomy table. Excellent bread-fresh & crusty. The appetizers were a bit skimpy; but, the mains were very large. I tried the grilled chicken which was cooked on open grill pit & entire half chicken (must have been on steroids)--very good, but meat around bone undercooked. My wife's sea trout was good. A nice experience, but I wouldn't hurry back.

We visited Lux yesterday for dinner based on the reccomendation received by a friend.
The food did not disappoint, inded the tast and the presentation of what we had was great, however we had to wait for more than 40 minutes for our main course and really struggled to get attention from any of the waiters for the entire dinner.
Bathrooms (both ladies and gents) were not really looked after and in quite a bad shape by 9pm..
Great food but would not go back.

Amazing food (all originated from Sweden) - great wine selection and friendly staff. It's located further to the west of the city but was worth going - it's in an old Eletrolux warehouse that was completely renovated - now modern and very cozy interior. A "must go" whenever in Stockholm.
