“Great sandwiches, cozy café”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Wonderful café located right at Stortorget in the old city. There is a lovely outside seating area – terrific on a great summer day. We were pleasantly surprised by our sandwiches which were amazing and tasted so good.

The cakes looked very delicious, but we were too full after our sandwiches.

Definitely recommend for a lunch or coffee break.

“Popular cafe on Stortorget Square”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Chokladkoppen was a place I looked for in the Old Town for a quick coffee break as it came highly recommended. It was a very busy place with tables taken as soon as someone left. Since the tables are on the "patio" in front of the restaurant, it was easy to see if one could get a table. Inside were just a handful of tables surrounding the kitchen. Nice on a cold day, but too warm on a sunny day. Outside the tables are pretty rustic/primitive...small round wooden slat patio tables and folding type chairs to allow more seating to be jammed into the small space. Tables for two are almost touching. The area was well staffed so our order was taken quickly, but we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our 2 cups of hot chocolate and cinnamon bun pastry to arrive. The hot drink was served in a large cup with whipping cream with chocolate shavings on top and was quite filling, but these two items were nothing special. Other menu choices besides drinks and desserts include soup and sandwiches. See their website for their selection, but prices are not published, sorry. The patio was a good spot to people watch, look around the square, and rest your feet. The awning provided some shade and protection from drizzle. Fleece blankets were placed over the chairs should the wind be too cool or brisk for those not wearing weather appropriate clothing. This restaurant is recommended by many sources so give it a try like we did.

“Awful attitude, bag stolen by waitor??”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

We had a bag stolen from a corner inside the café. Only persons passing by our table were the waitors. When asking them to help find the bag they couldn't care less and really had attitude problems. Beware of pickpockets inside this coffe place, or just don't go there...

“Decent price, good food.”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

We were warned that meals are expensive in Stockholm. We stumbled across this place with decent prices by comparison, on a lovely square. Admittedly the rainbow flags caught our attention too, although the crowd was primarily straight. The food was very good, we shared the chicken curry sandwich and the salmon and spinach pie. Would go back and would recommend.

“Cozy but busy”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

We liked this enough to visit 3 times. It does attract Swedes as well as foreign students (Americans, some obviously studying in Copenhagen were particularly evident while we were there). Cakes are good, it's dark inside and cramped when full, but that only adds to the atmosphere.
